So i bought a .30-30 Winchester Centennial '66 24" from a local gun show last month for a good price -i think-. rifle is pretty clean condition for a 50+ years old gun and dont seem to have seen much use, but no safe queen or show piece.

However, just after i got home, realized the front sight post is rough, first though is maybe the previous owner filed it down to adjust aim point, took to my indoor range, it shot about 6-8 inch high at 25 yards. looking at pictures online of the same gun, the front sight post in online photos is like 1/4" taller than mine.

However, i'm having hard time finding the proper front sight post for it, or original sight post height so i can find an aftermarket one.

anyone knowledgable enough or have a similar gun that can vouch in?
its .30-30Win caliber, 24" hexagonal barrel with dovetail front sight (not the ramp type like normal model 94 of that era)

here's some photos

Those sites are unobtainium.
You best send it to me and I’ll dispose of it for you.
Serious though it looks like a keeper.
Don’t be in any rush to fix it with something that will make do cause it sure looks Purdue.
Western Gun Parts in Alberta might have what you are looking for.
Have the make model and serial number at the ready for when the nice lady on the other end asks you for this.
Makes it easier for you and makes her have to do some work looking up the part number.
Better yet google the part number and have that at the ready when she starts to question you.
Good score.

Problem with both "Western Gun" and "Rustywood" is that i dont know the proper height of original sight post and both couldn't find it either. Western gun didnt have a parts catalog or part number for the Centennial model.

CGN user accumulator!!!!!
I just messaged him myself and he actually has the very same rifle. Model year and everything.
At the very least he can tell you the height. But he has parts galore too so he may just have one for you.

Don’t have the exact one . Here is what ur looking for . Someone has a Canadian cent . On EE , sight would be the same . I thought fairly reasonable just for an octagon shooter . Scrounge original sight and sell the donor :)

Mighty thick front sight .......measure it and get a white bead Marbles. That's what I did on my 1892 44-40.Old eyes now not a problem.
