So i bought a .30-30 Winchester Centennial '66 24" from a local gun show last month for a good price -i think-. rifle is pretty clean condition for a 50+ years old gun and dont seem to have seen much use, but no safe queen or show piece.
However, just after i got home, realized the front sight post is rough, first though is maybe the previous owner filed it down to adjust aim point, took to my indoor range, it shot about 6-8 inch high at 25 yards. looking at pictures online of the same gun, the front sight post in online photos is like 1/4" taller than mine.
However, i'm having hard time finding the proper front sight post for it, or original sight post height so i can find an aftermarket one.
anyone knowledgable enough or have a similar gun that can vouch in?
its .30-30Win caliber, 24" hexagonal barrel with dovetail front sight (not the ramp type like normal model 94 of that era)
here's some photos
