This is my version of a bubba'd Marlin. The inspiration came from another esteemed CGN member who shall remain anonymous :D
Admitedly, a couple of touch up are in store, but I kinda like it.

i remember as a child that tassles made my tricycle go faster, do the help with the external balistics of the marlin??

I am jealous of the PL stock, i want one on the 336:rockOn:

Aaaww, now you hoiit my feelings :D D'juno how long it took to do the ghey thangs? ;) #### yeah, another 150 fps man../ lol

Heck of an idea Noel, I'm on it. the nice thing about this Bubba, is you can undo it if it don't come out right ;) It gives the stock some good protection when in the scabbard and bushwacking.

Dude, barrel racing is for girls. Considering your location, I'll forgive you :D Unless of course, you're implying something else.....;)

I've been known to use the very ugly Bulter Creek slip on covers to protect wood from time to time.

I am thinking I know who you are getting the peer pressure. Someone I know recently went for a equestrian ride down your way not long ago.;)

Have you seen how he who shall remain anonamous wraps the lever with leather? That is the best thing since sliced bread and I will be doing that to me "grey rat" 38-55 very soon.

Be careful around that "guy". He's crazy....... but he has some great ideas too!
:D

I grew up on a farm in S. Ontario. We had horses, lots of horses and guess who had to muck the stalls. :(

Mostly Saddlebreds, some Standardbreds, and other mixed. My grandfather bought an old barrel racer. Nice horse, but it was a bit crazy to ride. :D

.

Ha, you guessed it Noel. He showed me his handy work, and yes that is where my inspiration came from. I used hides that I've got kickin' around and made up my own lacing. I must admit, I like his work better, but I was just messing around, it was too frikin' hot to go outside. I was saddled up at 5.00 am to move the bulls out on the grazing lease, came home, hot tub and a brew, and played with guns and leather....life is good.

You better go crash his camping party and show him how you made out!:p

The only leather work I've done this year or ever I guess was to make a leather scabbard with my 96 year old Unlce for my old Savage. It isn't pretty but I will cherish the memory of hanging out with him for a long time!

I would to build a slip over, lace up leather boot for the same gun, mostly to hide the grossly over size buttplate I refuse to grind down to match the under size stock. Might have to go play at Reuben's again.

SC, that will NEVER happen. It will always be leather, but Noel gave me an idea. Stay tuned, it could take a while, I'm pretty busy with work. ;)
