Best Province for a Hunter

Yes, excellent hunting and fishing, and no bridge for the riff-raff to have easy access.

Limited amount of species to hunt. No whitetails, moose and caribou only by draw.

In the east, I think it's NB--two bears, as many as three deer a year if you know how to work the system, lots and lots and lots of ducks. Nova Scotia pretty close, but the bear hunting is kind of screwed up, and less chance to go moose hunting.

Never hunted out west, but if I did, I'd hunt BC--incredibly diverse terrain and species.

I buy an Ontario spring black bear license and am good to carry a cf rifle in the woods May15 to June 15 and August 15 to the end of October each year hassle free as long as I’m obeying the hunting rules (wearing blaze orange, observing hunting hours, etc.).
June 15 - August 15 is too darn hot and too many flies anyway.
I have no interest in bears or their meat.
The license is just an excuse to carry a rifle without getting the 3rd degree from COs and cops.

It’s getting longer and longer between adult moose tags in the Ontario lottery system.
WMU28 is 10+ years between tags.
It was every 2 or 3 years when the system first started in 1983 and stayed that way for years.
Whatever they’re doing or not doing to manage the moose population isn’t working.

Manitoba, can still walk up to the counter and buy a deer tag, moose tag, caribou tag, bear tag. Elk is by lottery but late season or archery is very good odds. Last year 3 archery tags were sold in my moose area.

LOL. How about 35 years in NS and still never got one
:(

Stay out of Sask....were full!

Ain't that the truth! I've noticed a huge change even in the last 5 years when it comes to hunting. Way too many road hunters shooting whatever they see and driving through fields.

New trespassing laws in Sasky are gonna change everything big time. No more driving down the road and happening across an animal, shooting it and loading it up. Which in a way, is a really nice thing. I bet a lot of the weekend warriors will give up hunting.

I spent nearly all my life in AB, recently moved to SK.

Ab's draw system is Great. Sk's, IMPO, compared to AB, sucks. Sk is basically a random draw, like buying a lottery ticket. Ab is a priority based system where you can research past draw results in different wmu's and for eg, the one you're living may take priority 6 to get a certain tag, the next one over may only take priority 2. People complain about the high P needed in some draws but again, IMPO the pluses of much more opportunity and the ability to KNOW when you'll be drawn allowing you to literally plan your different tags years in advance is very nice. A couple of the draws there are so few tags the chances of ever getting one are near nill, but those tags are a pittance to what opportunities are available.

Again, that's just my personal take.

Perhaps it's just because I don't buy lottery tickets and think doing so is foolish.

And in a way, it was a nice thing that you could just go out and hunt. Too bad we screwed it up.

Saskatchewan...Aswell able to hunt all sorts of big game species across Canada yet only allow other Canadians to hunt whitetail (if drawn) or black bear in there own province.
