Hey guys~I ask this question every year on the forum...for fun @ a quiet time of the year, but also to get a sense of whether or not much shopping happens over the holidays...whether or not I'm missing something I should be aware of, etc. :) For me...it's a time of year I decide whether or not I'm taking a run at spring gophers out west, as the best prices on airfare usually happen around this time, but other than that...I'd answer the question this way;

1. test-shoot my newest rifle~a CZ452 American with a 16" threaded barrel :) Haven't even got the scope on it yet, but will this week.
2. at the first sign of decent, warmer weather...make-up for all the shooting I DIDN'T do this fall. Oct.1-Dec.1 in southern Ontario=I think we had about 4 days of sun, about 6 days without precipitation. Ugh..
3. look at upgrading at least 1 rimfire scope, been curious about the older Tasco scopes that come-up in the EE once in a while...and I always miss.

There are non-rimfire-related goals too...maybe a dedicated coyote rifle in .243. If I'm going to go coyote hunting and yet never shoot one, I'd rather not be pulling the trigger on a .243 than not pulling the trigger on a .223. lol Makes sense...right? :p

Dove pretty hard into the 22lr scene last year, and its been a blast! Got my CZ455 shooting lights out, so im starting to shift priorities to getting my dlask DAR22 competition ready, and looking at bringing some older 22s out to compete.

Ive been hosting rimfire PRS matches (based on NRL22 and soon Outlaw matches)...so will keep doing that and growing the amazing community of shooters in the Ottawa-area. That's my main goal!

1. Sign up for the Eastern Ontario Shooting Club to get a lot more practice in (maybe 1-2 a week).
2. Upgrade trigger on my CZ 455. Join open-sight rimfire competitions. Maybe try to fit globe sights.
3. Set up my T1X (new scope, rail, rings, stock, maybe trigger)
4. Get a semi-auto 22LR. Im thinking TUF-22.
5. Save up for Anschutz 1710.

Her are my goals:

1. To sign up my son, daughter and wife for a project Mapleseed course
2. shoot 1000 gophers
3. set up and shoot the .22 I picked up on a black Friday sale
4. shoot a target I can post in the "My rifle shoots..." thread

I want to shoot a lot more.
I want to play with an SR-22 that will be going together in the next couple weeks.
and I want to do some 50 yard shooting, may be the 5 groups x 1/2" challenge.

1. Get into AA 22lr silhouette class
2. Increase numbers at the shooting range in silhouette at the Vancouver island fish and game.
3. Get my cz 452 style into the 1/2 inch all day club
4. Get my soon to arive tikka T1X set up for a second silhouette rifle
5. Compete in the provincials and nationals
6. Find someone to start precision 22lr on the island.

Last year I said I would downsize so I could shoot what I had more often, buy no more new rimfire rifles, and shoot my handgun more often. I sold my handgun last spring and haven't yet replaced it, and I bought a few new rimfires and a bunch of preowned .22LR's. In the end, I did manage to downsize, so that's one out of three goals achieved for 2018.

I'm not sure any 2019 goals outlined at this time would still hold six months down the road. Nevertheless, I don't plan to buy more rimfire rifles -- although I must confess to having considerable curiosity about the new Tikka T1X and the CZ 457 MTR. I am, however, thinking about getting another .22LR handgun.

I also want to achieve the 1/4" club with at least one of my rifles, hopefully with more. That will require more shooting with each of the three I think have a chance to make it, one of them being a new Black Friday purchase from a couple weeks ago.

Wow,my rimfire goals pale in comparison to you guys.Thinking very hard about buying a Ruger 10/22 walnut fullstock that I've been eyeing up for a while now,and probably put a more compact scope on my SBR.

Buy a bolt action quality .22
Try the one of Project Mapleseed events.
Buy another 10/22 and make a plinker.

Cheers,
EZTRGT

I want to upgrade the scope on my 17 mach2 to one with side paralax adjustment

Stock pile another 10 000rnds of 22lr and hopefully add a few more bricks of 17 mach2 while still shooting often

Build a chassis for a semi auto rimfire. Ill likely buy a 795 for this project and keep my savage and cooeys stock

Fix the light strike issue on my cooey 39

Handle a criket rifle in sporting classic and their chassis model. I havent located any in canada yet. Both are bolt actions

Possibly pick up a henry lever

Depending on how things go with the libs and handguns pick up a pair of revolvers in sa and da

As for centerfires. Finish off my projects. 223. With the possibility of making it a switch barrel combo with a 25/45 sharps barrel. Get on with my 250 savage build as its almost all planned out the black walnut blank is here. More load development in my 300wm and a new barrel and work up for my 2506. Then move on to a 416 taylor or 350rm necked up to 40 or 416

Just put a borla exhaust on the truck and its still running 100% and the 33s are showing no wear so i might keep it another year so more money in the gun and ammo fund

I am going to hunt more with .22's this year... last fall I shot about 30 grouse and a couple dozen hares with a CZ 453 Lux, and I had forgotten how fun that is... I have been largely wingshooting with various SXS and O/U shotguns for the past 30 years. As a kid I used pellet guns and .22's for most of my small game hunting, also shot hundreds of grouse with pellet pistols while bowhunting for big game. Sniping birds through the eyeball at ranges of 30 - 100 yards is loads of fun... and the "pellet free" meat is nice too.

my rimfire goals.... let me see.

1. buy a pallet of AE5022 Ammunition. (this would be nice)

2. stop buying new rimfire guns.

3. Ignore #2 at all costs.

=lol :) Yeah, that was my plan for 2018...didn't work out that well. lol Overall, I'm downsizing my small assortment to just the ones I use, save for a few inherited shotguns that have greater sentimental value than $ value.

Her are my goals:

1. To sign up my son, daughter and wife for a project Mapleseed course
2. shoot 1000 gophers
3. set up and shoot the .22 I picked up on a black Friday sale
4. shoot a target I can post in the "My rifle shoots..." thread

^=gopher envy. Wish we had those reactive targets in S. Ontario, but keep us posted on that. Photos always welcome.

I just picked up an Enfield 22 trainer and a new browning sa22 so my goal is to enjoy the heck out of them

^bucket-list gun for me, I'm very jealous. Feel free to post a review with photos, I'd love to hear how they shoot. I've always wanted one, just not sure how much I'd shoot it...and I can't afford to own wall hangers unfortunately. However, even as a "wall hanger"...that one probably tops my wish list, especially the MKIII.
