Is there any ambi AR15's out there made for lefties that wont rape my wallet? Alternativly is it easier and cheaper to just modify a stock AR with a left mag release, safety and charging handle? My stock AR is fine to handle. However Im just getting the urge now to modify it or replace it to compensate for my disability of being a lefty. :)

I vividly remember getting wrapped in the knuckles by the teacher with the meter stick who said "Good Christians Write With Their Right Hands" Don't shoot like a sinner, I learned to Write like a Christian

I shoot rifles lefty and never had any issues with any of my ARs that had me looking to switch to a LH AR. Most of the controls are already lefty friendly. Just add an ambi mag release and safety and go to town.

Nobody needs a left handed AR,, except a lefty :)
I went with a Stag Arms 3G Elite Lefty upper, couldn't be happier, it is really damn nice. Arms East are fantastic to deal with.
I've only had it out a couple of times since I just got it, but I already know I love the leftness of it :)

Mine has one and it's fine. Im not looking to change up ejection. Just one with a ambi mag releases and a amby safety and a left charging handle.
In that case, there are many ambi safeties and mag releases that can be installed on your AR, and a raptor charging handle is only $100 or so, easy peasy

The AR has been ambidextrous since it's inception. I shoot right but I know a few lefties that shoot theirs without any left hand parts and they can run them just as fast as anyone else and never eat brass.

You eat brass with SP1s.

I wasn't familiar with those but from what I can see on the net for pics those don't have the brass deflector, so don't buy an SP1 if you're a lefty.
Other than that you should be fine shooting an AR left handed without needing to spend more on a rifle with ambi controls.

Funny, when I was thinking of a left handed AR I kept hearing the same thing,,no need, AR's are basically ambi etc, and I agree, always shot them, never had a problem with a standard righty. Then I talked to a lefty that had an out of battery detonation, something I never considered, he was lucky and didn't loose his eyesight, but spent quite a while picking metal out of his face, and has some permanent scars,, not the best place for your face to be if you are a lefty. That conversation convinced me to buy a Stag lefty

There's no reason to get a left handed upper. I like being able to immediately see into the chamber. I don't eat brass and I don't eat gas. If you do, your AR is improperly timed.
Also, as far as manipulations go, you can get an ambi charging handle, ambi mag release and for the bolt release, either reach the top of the paddle with your lanky spider fingers or if you have sausage fingers like me, use a tactical bolt release (those ones that go through the trigger guard)

Of course there is a reason,,I wanted one. That is a good enough reason for me :)

Or maybe due to their physical size or technique they require something different. Everyone is different

To each their own. It's not a cosmetic feature so in my opinion if it helps you whether mentally or physically it's a good idea.

I was extremely concerned about running an AR as a lefty before I made my first purchase but now I am glad I did not simply for the fact that i can run Low mass BCGs (try finding a lefty one of those) and again for the reasons mensioned above. I agree that no one should tell you what to do and if you really want one by all means give 'er hell. I just know opinions and tastes change with experience.

Edgy was rocking his old DA right handed rifle quite well but really wanted to annoy ROs at the next match! LOL! His Stag is a beauty to behold!

I’m right handed but can shoot both ways. I have to admit it’s weird to try his lefty upper with a conventional lower. My mind got discombobulated trying to hit the controls as I expected everything to be left sided even though I knew they were not.

I run a norinco cqa as a lefty. I had ambi selector and mag release and no issues with the ejection pattern so I could bever see the point of paying for left handed ar15. But too each their own Sir!
