In a fit of generousity, I am willing to meet up with any Ottawa, Eastern Ontario or West Quebec Norinco M14 owners to spread some of the lessons I picked up at Hungry's last M14 clinic. I'm not a gunsmithing expert, but I think I am at least as smart as anyone else on the forum, and I have the advantage of exposure to Hungry's tips and tuning.
The idea is for owners to bring what they own, for the group to move from flash suppressor to buttplate, inspecting and examining their rifles. Looking for the obvious places to snug up or loosen off, parts to replace (and why), and what little improvements can be made by the owners. The 1965 US Army Preventive Maintenance Manual would be the teaching reference, with interspersed ####-loss avoidance strategies from Hungry's clinic. The teaching objective would be to get all participants on the same page, and hopefully on paper. Test firing as circumstances permit.
We'd need a place to meet, some chairs, 6' tables, and lights in a place where 'guns can be spoken'. Fees TBA, and I'd encourage a flow-through donation to the OSA. This has to happen in Aug for me, and we know Sept and Oct are back to school and pushing hunting seasons.
Who wants to help? Suggestions?
