The BCL WEJACK and CATAMOUNT

dumb names , but I'm waiting for the Badger

And the trash panda!

I like the upgraded parts. Which includes The trigger tech looking clone, the JP silent spring knock off and the Armalite SASS adjustable gas block copy. But I think I prefer the looks of the gen 2 + handguard better than this current version. I’ll have to see it live before making a final judgement. But from the pictures it’s s bit too angular for my liking.

I'm still not willing to give BCL a chance, they've got way too bad of a reputation for quality control and building rifles that don't function.

They can keep their mediocre junk. There are too many better options out there these days to risk being one of the lucky ones that gets one that's built out of spec.

If theyre cheap enough might be worth it.

Wait, the Wejack is RESTRICTED? lol why

I guess the Badger is the one to see if its worth a damn.

No kidding! It blows my mind people even talk about BCL or consider buying them.

I want to see Canadian companies succeed. NEA supported the CZ/VZ rifles quite well, and seem dedicated to bringing NR rifles to market. There’s a lot to like, if the products can back it up.

I wouldn't buy anything from BCL/NEA ever again. I got suckered in on the BCL 102. The worst POS firearm I ever had. They can call it what ever they want, it will still be a POS at the end of the day. As for the names...they are stupid!

I wish they would get one right... but I have had many issues with NEA. And the obvious cost cutting just makes things unenjoyable for me.

Like the ejection port cover. Why is it an ugly piece of flat metal when there are so many companies making regular ones that could fit.

I totally agree, I want to see Canadian companies succeed as well and I am willing to do what I can to shop local instead of buying things made elsewhere but with their track record I can't really say it would hurt my feelings if they folded. They've had years to turn things around and they've done nothing but change their name and say that they've improved things but there has been no evidence of any improvement other than I don't look into the BCL threads anymore so I don't hear about much anymore.

I see MDI the same way, they started off on the wrong foot with delays and bad tolerances but if they can turn it around and get it right point forward I could see myself buying their products in the future.
For now I'll stick to my ATRS products and at least know what to expect for quality and product support.

My advice to anyone considering buying one of these new rifles is
DO NOT pre-order. You will definitely want to at least handle one before putting your money down and it's probably best to wait to see how the first batch works out before getting too excited.

I think they moved the initial QAQC guy from the BCL102 into marketing to come up with names like that!

I wasted several months dealing with the BCL-102 pre-order fiasco. I won't be bothering them with my money ever again.

Pre orders are fire and forget. Same with waiting lists. This seems to hold with every company.

I think the lack of coming clean on the specs such as 6061 aluminum and not anodized was what pissed me off. Especially when one of their employes had said the NEA 25 was using forged uppers/lowers, so it was thought the gen 1 was forged. Any questions about it were met with radio silence. That's a huge warning sign to me. Until they get 7071 and anodized, I won't be buying anything. I'll keep my BCL 102 as a fun hobby grade AR308 rifle. I might try converting it to 6.5 CM. It's basically a Canadian made DMPS LR308 in terms of hobby grade target rifle for me. The serious stuff is the HK, KAC, LMT and even Armalite (mine aren't the commercial versions).

MDI has improved upon all the initial problems with their receiver sets. From a quality standpoint I wouldn’t think twice about buying one of their newly manufactured receiver sets. If you can live with a ceracoat finish instead of anodizing. Unfortunately their overall design leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe a Gen II in the future will address these issues.

I have been waiting a very long time for a WK-180 without any complaints. The difference here is that I was told from the start that it would be a long time before I got one. It was "next week" for 4-5 months with BCL before I gave up.
