Must have semi-automatics?

Any solid modern handgun collection should have:

  • 1911 in .45 of some kind (historical significance)
  • P38 variant (historical significance)
  • Hi-Power (historical significance)
  • Makarov (historical significance)
  • Beretta M9/92 of some sort
  • CZ of some kind in 9mm (Shadow2?)
  • Sig of some kind, 226, 228, something along those lines
  • Glock of some sort (17, 19, 22, 23...)
  • A big-ass revolver in .44 or larger (Redhawk, X-frame....)
  • Probably a modern HK, Walther, and Browning as well

I intentionally left out a bunch that are significant but obsolete...

I should also note that I own almost none of these!!

If you are serious about rounding out a modern semi auto handgun collection, you will need to include a .22 in either a Ruger MK series or a Browning Buckmark. These pistols are iconic and really should be on the list.

A Sig/GSG 22
Browning Buckmark 22
Almost all posters who posted multiple semi's included a CZ so I agree a CZ of any type is a must. I would also throw in a CZ Variant like the Jericho 941
A good 1911
JMHO

No one's mentioned the C96 yet...
