I’m new at this as well and am trying to learn
So could you please explain how the buffer could go past the pin?
Or are you saying that the pin placement is out of spec?

The buffer isn't going past the pin. The end of a carbine buffer tube is profiled so that the bottom sticks out further to capture the end of the buffer retainer. On his rifle, the top half of the tube is not cut back enough and is protruding into the receiver.
I hope not, cause the 10rd mags don't work either. Lol
On my stag 10, the buffer tube near the bottom where it meet the pin comes out more than the rest of the buffer tube.
So wouldn’t they just send out a new buffer tube?
Seems like a lot of F...ing around , to have to ship a rifle to and from, throw in a few mags and a cleaning kit, just to swap out a buffer tube.
It would have been cheaper to send a new buffer, armorers wrench,a few mags and a six pack![]()
Stag said it was a problem beyond the buffer tube. I did mention that I would take the buffer tube and wrench. They said no they will send me brand new rifle.

On this rifle the problem is the lip on the receiver extension (buffer tube). A replacement receiver extension would have solved it, that wasn't received to be an acceptable solution in this case, which I am not questioning.
Why was I told by Tj at Stag arms that it had nothing to do with buffer tube? Someone needs to get story straight. Also when you tell a customer on a warranty return the rifle will be looked over you should have done it. Looking forward to a working rifle the 3rd time ...when ever it gets mailed out
They should do a recall and fix the problem or nobody will trust them anymore. i was looking to get one from irunguns but now i'm not so sure anymore. They are selling one with a in house barrel on. http://www.irunguns.com/product.stag-10-308-nr-20-hb
The rifles from IRG are built from stripped receiver sets and don't have a warranty from Stag. Buy it from Arms East instead.
IRG has factory stag 10’s and the lighter “in house” versions they built as you mentioned.
Oh ok. Didn't know they were getting completed rifles as well.

It's a simple fix - unscrew the buffer retainer nut, unscrew the buffer tube a few turns, tighten buffer retainer nut. I agree, however, the rifle never should have never been assembled like that in the first place much less left the shop after it was apparently looked at and test fired.
