Once again, who cares about US military testing, it was 24 years ago on prototypes, the Glock wasn't even included. The Beretta passed and was purchased because it was the best one at the time (and the cheapest).
I have to say when I go to the range, dragging my pistol through a load of mud before shooting it isn't the first thing that goes through my mind. In fact even when I was issued a pistol, dragging it through mud would have gotten my ass kicked by various NCOs so no, I think not somehow.
These "torture" tests always make me laugh. I have some sympathy with a drop test from a sensible height, say 2 or 3 metres, and testing it in hot and cold environments, and with a little bit of dirt on it.
But I tell you one thing for sure I won't work anymore if you drop me from a great height or drag me through a load of mud, so I really couldn't care less if my equipment does.
