SKS Red Dot problem

+1 for the Matador mount!

You're right about a cheap reflex sight. Originally, when I bought the Matador Razor mount I also bought an NC Star reflex mini sight that was exactly the same length as the Matador rail. Unfortunately, it was destroyed after just about 10 shots. Then I decided to go for the TRS-25 which is a very sturdy sight and not so expensive as Vortex. I sighted it in at 25 yards and shot about 100 rounds. It kept zero splendidly. Since the TRS-25 is slightly protruding over the Matador mount, on a few occasions the edge of the sight was hit with flying steel cases but the sight remained intact. Next step I will mount a rubber ring that would prevent any damage to the sight if hit with a case.
The Matador mount itself is excellent, solid like a rock. However, because it's short it requires a very short mini red dot sight. All good quality mini red dot sights (similar to Vortex) are very expensive.

Ordered it from the US from Luckywood, $200 shipped I think. It’s not the Monte Carlo one. Yup beefier for sure, feels right. Thx

Does the manufacturer ship to Canada now? It was "US Only" when I checked his Etsy page last time.. I really want to get one of his stocks.

For that price range used, try to get the Vortex, Burris reflexes below that I wouldn’t bet my life on them. Pretty much junk below $300 for reflex sights. The Bushnell Trs-25 red dot is a good bang for the buck even though they are hard on batteries but that’s the only I’d buy below $300

If you have the $$ the tank of all tanks is of course the Trijicon RMR series. Used maybe around $500

Would be fun for the range and plinking but I have severe doubts it’s tuff enough if hits the ground. Even the Burris Fastfire 3 breaks and goes for around $350.00.

The Vortex and Trijicon seem to be able to take a hit. Your call. Your TRS-25 is fine too.
