I'm not the best shot so they seem to get similar accuracy of 1.5 to 2" at 100 m with Hirtenberger 7.62X51 off a bipod with no rear support.

The big differences between the two rifles:

XCR is very front end heavy but easy to take down/clean & folding stock is nice.

Stag10 is very well balanced in the 12.6 lb spec. & off hand shooting is very good. I'm not a fan of the Law Tactical Folder due to the weight, but there is no balance issues.

Considering the accuracy is equivalent in these rifles shooting surplus ammo, it is my opinion unless one builds a Stag10 to be lighter weight then a XCR-M that the XCR-M holds the advantage due to the ergonomics, ease of cleaning & folding stock.

Next I will be putting the Stag10 on a diet & going a completely different direction.

The balance improved big time on the XCR's with the keymod forend. If yours wasn't a quadrail version I think you'd be surprised how much you would like the XCR-M.

FYI your XCR also has forward assist.

I have a "new" accurized key mod xcr-m with a light barrel. The guys over on the xcr forum have come to the consensus that the h-bar is not worth the weight vs accuracy. I'm very happy with mine.

And try a sandbag under the rear. Those groups will definitely tighten up.

Agreed, it's comparing apples to oranges with a pencil barrel and light forend on the Stag and heavy barrel and quadrail on the XCR.
If you sold the XCR and bought a newer keymod light barrel model you'd have a completely different feeling rifle.

And yes, XCR has forward assist. Push in on the charge handle. It's a much nicer way to do a FA as well, I don't like the AR plunger type.

And reliability/mag interchangeability? Was looking at reviews on the xcr m on the cabellas website.... idk it wasn't looking good for the xcr m

Why not? The only real complaints I've ever heard about the XCR line of rifles is that they aren't known for exceptional accuracy which really isn't a big deal since it's not and never was intended to be a DMR rifle.
The XCR do not have a reputation for being magazine sensitive so I'm not sure why you say it's not looking good for the XCR. Are the newer ones picky with magazines?
They're definitely a reliable rifle and also have the added bonus of being supported by Wolverine Supplies so no matter what happens to your rifle you can be sure that it won't be broken for long.

I've owned several XCR-M rifles and one XCR-L, no stags yet. I have a very high opinion of them. I never had any issues, and now with the keymod forend and light profile barrel they are perfect. The XCR rifles have the best ergonomics I have ever experienced hands down. They are a fantastic design. The only thing I don't like is the fact that there are too many exposed bolts that can back out, so loctite is a must. I might have to get another one soon. We'll see.

Well said. Ergonomically superior to anything AR based without a doubt. Unfortunately lack of mods is a big deterrent.

I have an XCR-M in 243 and XCR-L's in 5.56, 6.8spc and 7.62x39. I've never felt the "need" to modify any of them. I think they're good to go just the way they are. Just my opinion though.

I'd like some better barrel options.

No off the shelf aftermarket options but you can easily get one made.

Wolverine Supplies carries barrel extensions for both the XCR-M and the XCR-L. I think they are around $100. Any reputable gunsmith can get a barrel blank and spin one up for you.

Yes it's going to be expensive but then again so are factory RobArms barrels.

Thanks for that. I will definitely get on that. Now I just need to find a good gunsmith..

I much prefer the side charging handle on XCR and MV. The bolt release on the XCR is the best I have ever used.

Yes the bolt release is incredibly innovative and convenient. The Sig MPX is a close second, for the right handed people among us.

In a thread comparing the XCR to an AR-10 I am pleasantly surprised to see that there is still this much love for the XCR.

It's not perfect but I still think it's been greatly underrated by many.

The XCR never suprised me, I have always loved the XCR rifles. They are excellent! What surprised me was that the Stag10 was as good. Next I'll be switching to a Magpul MOE stock with a Law Tactical folder and a lighter scope mount and see if the ~ 1.5 lbs of weight savings makes the difference to elevate the Stag10 to my favorite unrestricted .308 autoloader.
