Hi all!
Has anyone tried the CZ copy?
Any thoughts vs. the original?
Most of the reviews I saw looking this up offered a lot of spec comparison but not much else.
Thanks in advance!
I think you could still find them in the $300 range which is less than half price for essentially a new pistol. One of mine is interchangeable with my CZ but the other one is not. They all shoot about the same but I am no competition shooter.
Do these guns take CZ mags?
I haven't handled a real CZ so I can't compare, (I assume the CZ would just be nicer to have and to hold.) But ...
...for curiousity about Norinco pistols and the .40S&W cartridge and an approximation of CZ pistols I bought a used NP40 instead of an NZ85. I prefer revolvers and have limited time and space for shooting and storing guns so I never intended to keep it. I tried it, thought well of it, sold it according to plan.
I liked the NP40 enough that if I were going to keep another semi-auto (I have a Browning HiPower for sentimental reasons) I'd have replaced the NP40 with an NZ85 to keep my reloading simpler. Plenty of gun for the money.
I now have a cz one but I had a Norc. in all honesty with that money I cannot find anything as decent as the 85b copy. Should have kept it.

I have 2 of them - plus a real CZ.
After a trigger job and new sights and grips it shoots as well as the real one. And the CZ is a great platform, too.
Buy it.
How difficult was the trigger job? Would someone who's mechanically inclined be able to perform the swap?
