Opinion on the Valmet Hunter

Hehehe it was a .308 one :) just had it up for sh*t n'giggles. Got a bunch of parts and 25 round mags coming in now for it though!

I think I want to do another Galil conversion in .223

Ah, I get it now... but FYI, I've spoken to someone that thought your ad was a legit asking price. He showed it to me and I laughed...

Also, my central nut is still up for trades for a 5/10 or 5/20 M88 mag.

Also anyone have a lead on a bipod and carrying handle?? They seem to be sold out everywhere

for a galil ARM?

Damn, I forgot where I got my 'early style' for 19$... lol

I got the one that looks like this:

For the carry handle, have you tried the airsoft ARM handle? It's pretty much a direct copy.. You can google "king arms galil arm" and look at results. I think I saw one for 20 bucks or so.

Ugh, I should start to write down and log where I get every component! I can't even find out where I got my carry handle.

If my memory serves me correctly... its NOT a 10 round mag, its a 9 round mag.....

Its been a while since I had mine out and well over a decade since it was fully loaded... but I'm sure it was actually a 9 round .308 mag for the hunter.

If you have the manual, the last page lists the available magazines it shipped with. I don't have mine handy just now... I have a factory 5rd magazine with my 308...

Oh, you pop the gas block off, and sleeve it on to where it needs to go, then put the gas block back on. This is easier typed than done though :)

Since the M88 barrel doesn't have a notch, you have to be EXTREMELY careful and precise as to where you notch it!

I'm thinking of sending my barrel to a place where they can duplicate it, for when I do something stupid and break it, to have a replacement ready... I haven't seen that many 'valmet' 308 barrels laying around

I'm also uncertain how my rifle will end up looking like... a Galil ARM, or a Romanian PSL (i got NOS furniture for one)... oh, if only I had two to work on :). The PSL would likely involve cutting in the receiver to fit the stock...

U should honestly just make a custom psl stock. The wood work aint hard. Buy a laminate blank, get a dremel and go to town.
