Uh, not sure what you mean... i dont see anything to 'cut in half'?
Are you talking about one of these parts?

On the right side. My original plan was cutting it in half and then carefully welding it back together while its on the barrel. It actually worked perfectly except I broke the little handle after a while from repeatedly trying to test the barrel notch.
Oh, and apparently someone in Ontario had a 7.32x39 hunter that takes normal AK mags...wow
The 223 magwell is the same, that's why the 223 -> 7.62x39 conversion is so easy. I have an ex-hunter that I converted to 7.62x39 (and regular ak mags do work as is), but I use an AR magwell adapter so I can have 10rd mags.
Pretty sure everyone has seen it at some point but here it is again. I'm _still_ tinkering with the stock adapter!

I have a full time job and a farm - not too much free time for things like this, but if I ever get this to the point where I'm not ashamed to accept money for it, I'll let you know...
I'm not sure there's money to be made for anything but an extra beer here and there, machining is expensive...
Remember those Norinco Hunters?
We had those in Canada????
PM me when you start - maybe I can help a bit and it'll give me a push to keep going.
3d printing is what I've been doing too. I only pay for materials for my 3d prototypes - the biggest difficulty is finding free time in a large enough chunk to sit down make the next version etc... I'm at a stage where I actually spoke with a machinist and he requested several modifications to make the machining cheaper and easier.
Nice find/catch. I wonder how much one of those would go for today.. Rarest of the rare models.
I'd give my central nut for a 5/10 or 5/20 M88 mag..
There is no such thing as 7.62x39 Valmet Hunter.. Never was. The one you see on that picture was converted.
The norinco hunters were a great gun. I never understood why the valmat remained unrestricted and the norinco hunter became prohibited! Other than quality, they are the same gun. The valmet 223
rifles were really well made and shot well, now prohibited also

How many central nuts do you have?
