CZ 858 Accessories, Thinking about manufacturing them here, Any interest?

My Opinion:

The things that are going to sell the best are items like the brake, mag release, and scope mount. I wouldn't worry about making things to replicate what is already out there just find your own solutions. I like the brake you made how much?

Kassat made up a nice scope mout for the 58 maybe you could steal some of his ideas?

Does anyone have pics of an issued bipod?

For 26$ I could modify it to slide on off of the VZ and not have to screw around making bi pods!. Here is the pic of the first prototype muzzle break. I know it is not the same as the standard VZ one but the holes are just details now that I have all the dimensions etc. This one is not oxided yet and is made from 4340 annealed. Let me know what you think. I will make one the same as wolverine sell toninght.

I dont s**t about posting pics so if anyone has some tips let me know.

How would that brake handle performance wise? What would it be better at, and what would it be worse at? Recoil? Muzzle Rise? Flash suppression?

I decided to share my invention with other VZ owners. I have designed a side scope rail mounting system that doesn't permanantly alter your rifle. No drilling in the receiver whatsoever. You are free to copy my design for your own use if you wish so but for mass manufacturing talk to me first please !!!
I tested it at the range and it surpassed my expectations. Very solid platform.

Its being held in place by the stock screw and another screw that replaces the lower handguard crosspin. It is 1/4" x3/4" steel flat welded to the buttstock plate (Numrich has them).

That is the author's words!

If I am reading it correctly, the mount is welded to the buttstock? Or am I reading it wrong? It wouldn't be that big of a deal if it was, but I would prefer it if it wasn't. I'd like to be able to take the scope off when I would want to, and have a lighter gun...

But if we can make this work, I would be ready to buy a brake, a bipod and a scope mount...maybe give a price cut if buying multiple items like that?

^ I only looked at it for a couple seconds but from what I understood the mount is welded to the buttstock plate (the metal piece between the stock and the receiver) so I guess it's sorta removable with some patience and a long flathead

I like the scope mount idea! Unfortunatley I would need the buttstock holder(metal peice) from everyones rifle or purchase them and then make the weldment. Has anyone found these peices?

I tried the new muzzle break design last night. Worked excellent. Some reduction in recoil,Huge reduction in muzzle rise! dont know about muzzle flash yet though. Generally quite pleased. I hope to finish my version of the "standard" one today and test them out over the weekend.

Looked into the extended mag realease. No problem. Question is how far below the trigger gaurd would everyone like to see it protrude?

John, Numrich sells them,

Item No. 868380
Stock Plate For Plastic & Wood Stocks
Retail Price: $5.20

As for the mag release, about between 1/2" to 3/4" ? Something that can be easy to use with gloves or mitts in Cold weather, But thats just me, maybe someone else has an idea on how long.

I have a price, The muzzle break will have to go for 40 bucks. You can have an option of original or "new design" what ever floats your boat! I will post pics on tuesday of the finished version of each on the rifle. I hope 40 isnt to steep but the cost of proper oxiding is pretty signifigant for a small batch of parts so there is not much I can do.

John, if you could compare it to the Marstar brake, I would really appreciate it. They are both $40, and the Marstar brake apparently is very good at reducing rise, recoil and flash. So if you or someone else (who would be able to make conclusions purely be design appearance) could break it down, I would appreciate it.

I personally find the 858 jumps too much when I shoot it. My shoulder doesn't hurt at all, but it just jumps a lot and almost surprises me a bit. I am a very good shooter with bolt actions, but I get all excited when I shoot and I can barely keep my hands steady let alone pull smoothly and keep my front post on target. Does this mean I have a problem with the jump mostly?

Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about the new brake John!
