.Nice setup Davey. You have some pretty high end gear.
what temp do you use that gear in? I am probably a wuss, but I prefer the sleeping bag to be heavier. Also why my setup doesn't coem in at 45 lbs. lol
Also, what stock do you have on your rifle? Is it just the angle, or did you find a folder that works?
I don't see much by way of attachments on the pack, when you are packing game out, do you put it inside, and leave the top off for air?
Also, what do you do for water? boil and go?(hopefully not literally lol)
I also bring paracord. enough to make an a-frame, or even to wrap around the antlers for a 2 man pull.
The safest a lightest way to kill bad things in your water is bleach. It takes very little, about 1 drop per litre. Let it sit, or pour it back and forth between cups and the taste is gone. Had beaver fever once, don't want it again.
I bring a small folding Sandvick saw which doubles as bone saw and all arounder. It's light and works well...
Just got back from spending some money on a new early-season-solo setup.

L-R
Western Mountaineering Beothuk +5 bag (I sleep cold) 450 Grams
Integral Designs Bivi Sack 450 grams
Sil tarp. 200 grams
So I've got a full sleeping system for the same weight as my old bag.
Heading to the hills tonight to get the bugs out before the opener.

Hehehe, a "belot" is a drunken belt! I have a couple of them in my closet.
Troutseeker
Holy crap, you can get bear in cans now?
Grizzly or black? That's a good price for grizzly, but too expensive for a blacky.

Western mountaineering makes great bags, I still wish I had my old down WM bag. Integral Designs makes great products as well, I have used many of thier products over the years.
I myself don't have much use for a bivi sack anymore though, it just plain sucks staying in one in the high country with not much cover in foul weather, all though I have done it many times.
Great early season gear BBB, sure will make a nice set up for solo packin!
