An Open Letter to a Stupid Shotgunner.

The club doesn't have to bear any resposibility. They give you a safety course, sometimes, and then if your too stupid to follow the rules well that's your problem. Most of the ranges I go to don't even have full time official Ro's. First shooter there is RO or everyone RO's themselves. If you see a problem you go over and mention it to ther shooter, and if it continues contact the administration. Ever take a child to a big play center. They say right up front that they are not responsible for anything that hppens and you haave to stay with your child. If we start saying that the range is responsible they will just not allow children at the range and I can not blame them.

I guarantee that if somewhere were accidentally shot at our club, the Ontario CFO would shut us down - possibly for good.

That is not what I said GATEHOUSE,

Well, yeah you did, since you said this:

I find that the club, in this case, is also being negligent.

and by-the-way, I agree that we are all responsible for our own actions,

Good!! SOmeone taking responsibilty for themselves is great!

but you have to admit that the club has to be partly responsible for its members.

Ooops..spole too soon.

No, the club doens't have to be "responsible for it's members" the members should act responsibly at the club.

The guy let his kid wander around unattended at a shooting range. I gues he also thought that the range officials should be responsible for his childs safety.

Wow, the guy is a complete A-hole and needs to be turfed from the club. This wasn't a 'warning' type of transgression, this was a "don't let the gate hit you on the way out" type of event.

 i hope the gate did hit him

what a di*k if i saw this id take his shot gun prove it safe take of the firing line dismantle it then take the barrle and smack him accoss the face with it throw all the parts in a bag then throw the bag thru his wind shild

i mean come on , its things like this that cause accadents that gives our sport eaven less poblislty and with eaven more concern , the life of the little girl!

damn it i wish a - holes like that never joined our sport in the first place , they will be the seath of us

The guy wasn't thinking at all.....maybe a little dense or suffering from 'boom fever'. No excuse for forgetting about where you are and 'kid awareness' factor. This clown has the potential to forget his kid is in the car on a hot sunny day for a few hours while he goes about his business............

Only members should be permitted to shoot without the supervision of an RO, and only after club traininger or certification. (it helps keep your insurance cheaper).

Non members should be permitted to shoot only under the supervision of an RO or an approved member.

If they person in question is a member, they should have their membership suspended for 30 days or more for violation of club regulations.
