Tikka T3 Arctic Vs No4 at 300m.

Very informative comparison. Given this rifle's price point, the deficiencies shown in use are disappointing and not acceptable. I wouldn't be happy either if I put down that kind of money for the Arctic. I hope Tikka resolves the issues with this guys rifle. I wonder if the Colt Canada produced rifles have these issues? It would be nice to see a comparison with the actual Ranger Colt Canada rifle.

An enjoyable video and a real tribute to the No. 4 to see it able to compete with a modern sporting rifle. As the Bloke suggests, the longer sight radius of the LE probably explains the ability of the older gun to keep up with the newer. Without doubt the Tikka would be capable of tighter groups from a "lead-sled" but in the real world it seems the LE is just as effective in the hands of an experienced shooter. Regarding sights, most private purchasers will scope their Tikkas- will the Rangers be limited to the iron sights?

Can we see a actual Canadian Range do a side by side comparison shoot with actual issue rifles in field conditions ? Now that would be a great thing to see, not taking anything away from Bloke but we have all the moving parts here in Canada to do it for real.

Great video, But both rifles should've had a baseline and not switch ammo thru the test. That makes it hard to come to a good conclusion. But he's a great shooter with irons, I cant hit anything past 50y now without a scope with my ####ty eyes.

My old POF enfield is also super accurate even in its full wood configuration. But these old girls were dropped and carried more then actually shot.

I would love to see how the factory recoil lug is setup in that Arctic rifle. if it was anything like the one in my T3x its loose.

Again great comparison, It shows you dont need to spend tons of money to get accuracy !

Canadian Army documentary, This is the C-19. You can see the action out of the stock. Looks like the action drops into the stock insert?
Not crazy about the push-button QD sling swivels.

Given the rifle's intended purpose, the deficiencies are unacceptable. (I know it's not a Colt made gun, and therefore not really a ranger's rifle)

Absolutely LOVED that burn! The civilian version is NOT the ranger rifle. Why they would not sell a Colt to Canadians is beyond me!

That would be good to see!

I find it totally Silly and depressing that today’s age of 3-D printing in C&C technology we could not find a company that would take up the torch and remanufacture improved number fours in 308 calibre In Canada

Kinda like the AIA No4 Mk4 rifle? Unfortunately, they couldn't make it a commercial success. I'm just wandering if Colt Canada could have bought the assembly line from them. By all reports, it was a pretty good rifle and in 308 Win as well which would have been able to shoot the 7.62 NATO just as well IMHO.

I work in northern Ontario on First Nations reserves and any of the rangers I have talked to have said yes the Tikkas are nice rifles but more of them liked the old rifles better.

Why does Colt Canada not plant to sell these rifle to Canadian Citizens
-simple answer the current governments policy to to restrict gun ownership to police and military use only part of the exorbitant cost of the rifles for the rangers must include a clause to restrict sales to 9nly government organizations.

My guess is that if CC were to manufacture the AIA No. 4 with acceptable quality parts, it would be more expensive than the Tikka Arctic. I am basing this on the design differences between the two rifles and greater number of parts and wood pieces involved with the No. 4 design.

You replace the wood with synthetics
