It appears Canadians and Czechs can cross-breed.... the Vz180C

When I first saw the 180C, I thought the AR15 stock on it was a travesty.... the AR NEEDS the buffer tube as a result of its design, but putting that stock onto a rifle that could potentially have a folding (or literally ANY other kind of) stock seems silly.

I had thought the ACR stock or ACE ARFX would be decent, but due to the length of the receiver behind the pistol grip, both are longer than I prefer.

A short Galil stock or Vz stock were the other option I had considered. With that in mind, I pulled the stock, and created this.... thing :)

BEHOLD, the hybrid Vz180C.... Vz stock and irons, with a Canadian rifle!

This stock fit so easily that I'd almost have thought Wolverine designed the rifle with it in mind. The indexing tab at the top of the stock needed to be filed slightly. Add a washer, use the factory WK180 bolt, and done. Cheekweld with the Scorpion iron sights is almost perfect.

Ok now that I like, awesome job!

Anywhere to source those irons?

Irons are off a Scorpion. Not sure if they can be purchased directly anywhere. What I love about this is that it is a cheap and functional upgrade... I really think this is what Wolverine should have done in the first place. They could have bought a ton of surplus Vz folders, and viola!

Tried shooting it yet? Wonder how much it will bounce around.

Not yet, but given how well that stock works on a 7.62x39 gun (even given where the bore axis is in relation to the stock), I think it'll be ok... probably more muzzle jump than with the more in-line AR stock, but we shall see.

Awesome idea. I'm no longer in the market for a WK180 but it's cool to know that the folder will fit. The necessity of a buffer tube on AR designs is a pain in the arse, definitely one of the aspects where the AR-18 derived designs shine.

Who would have thought?? And I've got the folder and the gun..
Now I'll have a VZ/CZ180C boolitt hose
Thanks CGN

I'll be curious to see what you put on it for iron sights. With that stock, definitely the lower, the better :)

...and also looking forward to seeing what other Vz-variant stocks people end up putting on these rifles

I appreciate the VZ folder for how extremely compact it is while still being rigid and somewhat comfortable. When my WK finally arrives I think I will be doing the same thing!

Man you know what would be dope, is putting a polymer VZ fixed stock on it and a normal-ass handguard for us "rifle is fine who needs _____" types.
