Stag 10 build and range review

Just a word of warning, the AR-10 handguards from True North Arms, the rail isn’t not a DPMS high.

This is was the result of my first BSF barrel. It made it exactly 1 round. All damaged parts have been replaced except for the proper barrel nut.

Everyone OK? I’m hoping it was being benched and not shot off hand. Likely lose your hand otherwise. Crappy experience, just hoping no one was injured.

wow …… that is crazy.
excellent pictures , they really show the violent nature of that explosion. The barrel isn't even touching the handguard and look how blown apart it is.

Thankfully i was wearing all my PPE and was unharmed. Except for a headache, maybe from the stress of the aftermath more than the percussion. I was shooting off the bench and my support hand was in safer position thankfully. It was a 20” fluted .308 barrel. The first one i imagine. I ordered it almost a year ago and picked it up Aug 23. I shot it on Sep 4 and shipped the remains back to BSF on Sep 5

I’m happy you’re okay. I’m glad they recalled the barrel before I got to shoot it or I would be missing a hand. The carbon fibre handguard wouldn’t have stopped anything. I measured the barrel thickness and it was less that 0.060” holding back ~62k PSI.

That is nuts but the real question is what handguard is that? I like it.

I built another Stag last night, this is going to be my truck/tractor gun. I wanted to try out some new parts and put more time behind the Magpul Bipod. I'm probably going to spray this with Krylon. :runaway:
