Been playing with my new ruger precision 22 lately. I can not believe how well this gun shoots. I found the Winchester m22 is shooting the best groups out of it. At 80 yards I was shooting under an inch. Unbelievable gun!!!!
Accuracy reports on this gun have been pretty spotty, but maybe worth noting that I think the higher the price..the more people pay attention to a detail like that. lol If Ruger was selling these for around $300, I'd take a chance on one and see if I could get it to shoot. For what Ruger charges, it's reasonable to expect a gun that shoots well. If not, there are players in that $ range that do, like CZ, Tikka, etc. Based on what I've read online, the new Savage B series are pretty consistently good and if I'm being honest...I'd probably buy one of those over the Ruger.
I DO like the Ruger though....and wish I could justify the risk.
I agree... I have a feeling after the honeymoon is over and initial enthusiasm fades, the price will come down.
If the barrel is rough, just replace the barrel, but by the time we do that on an over priced RPR, we'll be in the price range of an Anschutz multi purpose rifle.
