Well, some of you know I bought a MG34 from Marstar a few months ago. As it turned out, there was a minor defect on the feed tray that was catching cartridge rims and causing occasional misfeeds. I sent the part back to Marstar who returned it to TNW for a replacement. It took some time as "machine gun parts" are hard to get through customs - not Marstar's fault at all.

What made the experience an "above and beyond" example of customer service is that I had requested a spare booster cone in a smaller diameter and ejector rod for my gun so I could fire lighter ball ammo and have a spare ejector (high wear part in the MG34). I had given my MasterCard info and fully expected to be billed. Instead, they included these parts FREE OF CHARGE and even paid shipping, I assume for the inconvenience of having to wait for my warranty covered replacement feed tray.

So in short, THANKS MARSTAR! And yes folks, the Ironclad Guarantee IS up to the hype ;)

EOS; Please get your facts straight

TNW makes new receivers to which they use a great number of original military components....

Marstar has sold TNW thousands of Mg-34, Mg-42, 1919a4 and Browning M2s over the years....

Way to take care of business gettin the MG fixed John, and congrats to Claven again for being it's papa. I loved shooting that one. Can't wait to have a go at the 1919 that's going to be at the Mil Surp shoot at the EOHC.

So in other words, it's a new made firearm, according to the legal definition of what one is according to our overlords. With a pile of original parts. I'm not criticising the gun. Relax.

Facts? If the receiver is new it's a new firearm.

Well, it's more than just a "collection of parts". The maker marked and coded MG34 component is the barrel jacket. In my case, 75% of the parts actually match the barrel jacket too. ALL parts except the receiver and 3 very small fire control group parts are WW2 German.

But yes, the "legally a new firearm" thing is what allows us to own and still shoot them, unlike the converted auto MG's that can't come out and play anymore.

did they make an Mg42? I heard they tried but it was to difficult .I don't think I ever saw marstar advertise TNW Mg42's but I could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time or the last I'm sure

Marstar doesn't (and never did?) sell newly made MG42 receivers or complete guns with new receiver. In an MG42, the "receiver" is actually the barrel jacket and buttstock support two. It's all made in about 12 stamping operations using different dies on huge multi-tonne die-stamp presses. To tool up for them would be very cost prohibitive, unless there was a market for, say, 20,000 units.

As I understand it, the semi MG42's in the USA are semi-auto rewatts which are not legal in Canada.

Perhaps is Zastava has some M53 copies that "never left the factory" like with the VZ58's...?

TNW has said they will offer and MG42, but I'd surprised if the receiver ends up being new manufacture. The stamping dies alone would be cost prohibitive.

There are new production semi-auto Sarac 53s being imported into the 'States. That means that they have to be closed bolt.
