Glock 19x - thoughts?

The 19X got me back into Glocks after a 10+ year break. I had a gen 1, gen2 (two of them) and a gen 3. All reliable, plain guns with really crappy triggers. I sold them in the early 2000’s and went on to others.
We were in the States last fall visiting friends, and he had just gotten a 19X and was raving about it, so we went to the range, and I loved it. Excellent trigger (in fact, I am pretty sure this is the first place I’ve seen anyone complain about the trigger being anything but an improvement over previous gens), felt right in the hand, fast on target, good accuracy. I ordered one when I got home, and it’s become my most shot pistol since the beginning of the year. Around 3500rds, flawless performance, and shoot at least a 1/2in better groups at 15yds than any Glock I’ve ever owned.
I pre-paid for a 48 back in early Feb., told delivery would be end of March. Didn’t happen, and am STILL waiting. I finally got ahold of Glock Canada myself since the LGS seemed to be reluctant to, late last week. I was told the issue in March was a Glock problem with paperwork, it was resolved and that 48s were physically in Vancouver then and should have gone out to western dealers this week,. STILL waiting to hear from my LGS that its here.
Since ordering, i have been south of the border and have been able to shoot both the 48. The 43X.I like the 43 for sheer size....its tiny...but of the two new guns, the 48 is much more shootable than the 43X. The 48 will be very popular up here I think....if they ever get here

Well, I like mine a lot. It's my first ever pistol and the only one I have so I can't comment on it's virtues or vices compared to anything else. It is the FDE coloured one and travels in a Blackhawk Serpa holster and is bone stock, no trigger job, no fancy sights or anything else.
When I first got it I had problems with it feeding and jamming but once I looked up how to hold it properly (years ago I owned a Ruger Blackhawk in 44 mag and got used to going with the recoil on that, it was less painful than fighting it, but that technique didn't suit the Glock) it performed flawlessly. There may have been some "breaking in" going on but after the first 200 rounds it has fed and fired anything I give it.
As for the trigger, I just accepted it as typical of this type of design and adapted to it. No, it doesn't have the precise, glass break feel of my F-class target rifle, but I never expected it to. Yes it is mushy and there's a huge (relatively speaking) amount of travel but it is what it is; which is very different from my rifles or my revolver which has had a superb trigger job done on it. I just know that when I pick up the Glock I have to put my trigger pull into Glock mode.

Gotta admit, I'm considering a Glock 19X, too.

They seem to come up for sale a lot on the EE. Hence, my thread about that.

I posted a range review on your thread NAA.

I like the G19X a lot. But I won’t get one. It’s a neither here nor there gun for me. As a long time Glock shooter, I’m used to the various Glock triggers and the grip angle. I already own a 19 and a 22 so the X really is a solution to a non-existent problem for me.

But if this were to be my very first Glock, i would absolutely gladly get one.

Since you already know the G22 so well, I doubt the X will give you many WOW moments.

So, should I just stay with the LW .40 to 9mm conversion barrel for my G22's & call it a day?

I would say so. I did not find enough of a difference from my other Glocks to keep my 19X and I could not learn to like the "maple fudge" look of the slide. Good trigger out of the box like most Gen 5's though.
