Moose hunters threatened in Cape Breton Highlands

Glad you think it doesn't apply to west virginia.
Come down to WV uninvited and try a hunt there with no locals and you will soon see the new holes you have to smoke your stoegie
Meat cove is the closest I have found up here to my roots although I am, not 100% sure the meat cove dudes would really shoot you but would not chance it
See ya

I think my position is clear with these people. Still confused as it almost seems you are proud of it and advocate that type of behaviour.
Surprised you are still on this forum.

Your position is based on nothing but facebook / internet posts you have no clue what this is really all about or THESE people as you call them
WTF has this to do with me being allowed on this form. Did I do something wrong by supporting those with balls to stand up for what is right with the government in the middle as usual
No f'n wonder canada is in the shape it is with respect to firearm ownership

Wait now am I on face book ??? No that is impossible since I never joined and never will

The confusion continues.
Can you explain to me how you've turned this around from a thread involving lawless rednecks threatening bodily harm and property damage to now stating your support for people standing up for firearm ownership ???? Sorry, but there is no correlation.
I read the article and I don't subscribe to Facebook so refrain from your opinions as what I am about.

If you support the antics of those individuals who, as you claim are standing up for what they believe is right then you are part of the problem not the solution.
That position is a black eye for sportsman and true hunters.

Very bad situation. Could escalate extremely quickly. BUT under the threat of violence by armed persons not immediately identified as LEO, one has the right to defend to the death. No? Im not a lawyer and definitely a body cam is a must.

Do yourself a favour and put this guy on ignore. He has owned every gun ever made, has an infinite amount of time to reply to every message and argue you to death, and he seemingly knows everyone and everything about every topic.

Thanks Dilly, I wish I had known this earlier but I haven't spend enough time on these forums to accurately identify those persons whom I have wasted 15 minutes of my life on, which I can never get back.

Do we even know who these guys were. ?? Hines was labeled because of this and no where did he say he would stop anyone or no one has proved they were even his guides

Yup. We do. The individuals involved in the incident described in the article picked them out of a group photo of Hines' outfit.

Hines stated they were employed by him as guides, but that they "were on their own time" and he can't control what they do.

One of them was on FB threatening other hunters. Meat Cove outfitters posted the "hunt closure" on their FB page.

All of which I already stated way back in post 10.

There's having an opinion, and then there's willful ignorance. Don't be wilfully ignorant.

So in a lottery with 10k+ applicants for approx 350 tags, the outfitters want their own tags to sell and if not, they'll obstruct others legal access to the CROWN land that the zone is on. Unless, of course, you pay their extortion money and then they're the nicest folks ever.

Just put in my applications for the 2019 season, fingers crossed!

Correct, yes. That's a perfect summary.

I grew up in NS and the persistent downright ignorance and "turf protection" of so called hunters "protecting thier hunting spot" never ceased to amaze me.

I remember with my own eyes at Cow Bay the sabotaged duck boats, done by other duck hunters on the shores of salt water marshes.

These nefarious persons blew holes in the bottom of each other's duck boats pulled up on shore.

Yeah. Sometimes I just shook my head regards these so called NS sportsmen. And this kind of attitude was not confined to migratory bird hunters.

Yup you got it. "Crown" land being the key word there. On private property id be ok with them stopping hunters any way they choose.

Oh dude, let me tell you... what an eye opener coming from On. It's bananas out here. The woods are a dump. Everyone thinks they have the right to everything. Poaching is the provincial pastime. It's crazy.
