After WWII until the 70s, Japanese products were considered to be cheap and substandard. Times have changed.
I get really tired of this false equivalence.
Many folks have no idea of the quality of Japanese goods made long before the World Wars & since then.
Well Fudd Elmer my age is showing on this one. When first I looked at H&H that was the price but alas that was awhile ago apparently.
I'm sorry that you failed to understand the point that I was trying to make.
Mr. Shucker got it.
I used to see some semi affordable high quality pre-owned shotguns the odd time at the old Skinners shop in downtown Toronto. That was in the 1980s and you could pick them up from the display rack and try them for fit, imagine!
If anyone is ever down that way, the main Orvis store in Manchester, Vermont as a rule has at least 20 pre owned custom guns there. The used field guns I've seen in the place have included most every famous British maker, with Purdey being the most popular. I've seen and read suggestions that Purdey is overrated, yet if I was given one I would be quite happy and would just ignore those mean people.
