That’s a damn beautiful rifle, those Rigby receiver ring inscriptions give a guy like me goosebumps and send me into daydreams. Here’s some more old English walnut, from Holland & Holland.

I've had much the same 'thoughts'. My primary favorite has been/is the Schultz & Larsen. However, with a number of acquisitions from the'other' end of the scale, I'm questioning that , a little. From the initial accuracy results I've obtained with a couple of Zastavas..........
I looked at that wood and gave it some long/hard thunkin'. In the end, I like the understated wood that the old makers used, much like this Rigby rifle in 416.

I'd like to find some ammo for my 7x61 and get it out.

Loaded ammo and brass for the 7x61 are examples of some of the 'items' that I have scrounged and acquired an acceptable supply of at local gun shows over the years. 7x61 S&H ammo isn't something you come across on a regular basis. And, keep in mind, there are two basic variations you'll come across. The 7x61 S&H and the upgraded version, the 7x67 Super. Supposedly, about ten years after Norma and Schultz & Larsen brought out the 7x61 S&H, Remington introduced the 7mm Remington Magnum. It was a slightly more powerful close copy to compete with the 7x61. Again, supposedly, to 'match' this new competitor, Norma and Schultz & Larsen modified the 7x61 case by changing the inner case profile and the metallurgy, in an effort to increase case capacity and equal the 7mm Remington Magnum.
So if you were to part with some of your 7x61 ammo would you still have "an acceptable supply"? LOL I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread.
Got a handful of 7x61 once fired, literally a handful maybe a dozen to twenty, you can have for the price of a beer and postage.

I'd take you up on that offer.Shout me a PM. The rifle was left to me from my dad. I don't reload but getting closer to firing it is a start.Thanks.EDIT I just got a call that my step mom found a toolbox full of ammo from my dad so I hope it has some 7x61, 17 Rem and 5mm ammo for the rifles I got with no ammo. My dad had about 100 rounds for all the others so I'm hoping this is the ammo for these rifles. Dads only been gone a short time so we're still finding stuff.

My idea of perfect wood, probably the best I’ve worked. When it comes to natural patterns give me the wildest and most remarkable nature can produce.Mother Nature’s artwork. On a full custom 7x57R No.1 ‘stalking’ rifle.
