Should I get an SKS?

This is an interesting one, how the cost factors went to crazy. Back in (maybe) 1979 I paid $49.00 each for the SKS purchased in minimum groups of 20. I was a CIII dealer back in the 70's through maybe 2005 when the sales to LEA's dropped off and the licenses went to $2,000.oo.
I sold them for $89.oo each, but then the Valmets I imported were only $359.oo.......... Yeah, those were the fun days.

Works out about right, $100. 1979 money is equivalent to about $340 today so the prices have risen approximately with inflation.

I honestly never thought I would own an SKS or Mosin when I first got into this game. Never was big fan of the commie rifles, had my sights on the ###ier K98 and No.4 Mk.1... a few months later and I now own both a Mosin M38 and SKS

The EE is bad for my bank account. Every time I think, I’ve got a enough milsurps right now, someone will post a really good deal on a rifle or a new milsurp I’ve never heard of will be posted and then I just have to have it. Still don’t think I’ll ever own a Garand at their price point or an M1 carbine as the ammo is too expensive for what it is but never say never

I keep a coffee cup with spare change. when i hit $200 i start looking on the EE for my SKS

On the positive side, my missing-out on M1 Garands was what led me to picking-up a pile of SVT-40's when they splashed into Canada.... :yingyang:

Regret can be a powerful motivator!...
