That's 2 different methods (not counting PCC), both are valid. The abbreviated shoots 4 strings instead of 8 with 25 rounds instead of 72. Both can be used to give a shooter a classification.
Yes that makes sense now. I didn't realize the first option was for the standard long form 72 round classifier. Makes me wonder why, though, since they introduced a specific 54 round version for PCC.
HQ apparently is satisfied each form used will bring you to the same place ie your classification will be the same using the published scale. I am sure, for most it will. Bob
Having been part of all of these various classifier processes at one time or another over the years, I don't doubt that. But its unnecessary complexity, imho.
