BCL 102 catastrophic failure

That’s what I’m trying to wrap my head around. How did the firing pin strike that deep without the bolt in battery? All the evidence I can see ( with my limited knowledge of the platform) says it was not.

What I see in my mind, without a BCG here to play with, is the powder igniting, sending the case back into the bolt face. The cam pin is not contained so the bolt rotates (cam pin scarring receiver in the process) allowing more pin protrusion. When the BCG reaches the rear of the receiver, the inertia keeps the carrier moving but the bolt is stopped, forcing it to rotate to its normal position with the firing pin retracted as evidenced by the picture. If the BCG was removable you would see more damage to the upper receiver due to the cam pin being forced to rotate outside the race. Am I dreaming in technicolor?

Perhaps when he gets the BCG out we'll find a broken cam pin, could have allowed it to go far enough into battery without actually locking up the bolt lugs to the extension. Would have to be a perfectly located break for it to allow this but who knows.
Too many unknowns still until the BCG is removed and we can see more.

Could also have been a broken firing pin which jammed protruding from the bolt face, the last round could have broke it free and pushed it back so it doesn't look like a problem yet (need that BCG out of the gun).

Slash, can you remove the buffer tube and see if that will let you get the BCG out without breaking anything else?
Have you heard anything back from BCL yet?

Sorry about that last post, I get a little frustrated when guys act like there's nothing wrong with the company/platform just because their rifle hasn't had any issues yet. I was trying not to bash them this time because as far as we know so far this incident may have been completely the fault of your reloads.

I did take buffer tube off but the BCG is jamming on something in the receiver. The BCG will only exit the upper by an inch or two. I also cannot get the BCG to go into battery as the bolt assembly will not turn. It does appear I can insert a case into the breach but it’s really tight. BCL has emailed me that they will take my riffle back and send me back a working rifle regardless of factory or reloaded Ammo used.

Hey awesome that your getting a replacement.
It would still be good to know if it’s ammo or an out of spec rifle, that caused the malfunction.
Especially for the other BCL owners.

I would demand to know for piece of mind, sending another rifle that may blow up in similar fashion isn't a solution
