Is the 10-22 really just a rimfire shooter's equivalent of the Toyota Corolla?

It's a good rifle, but I was surprised how comparable the Marlin 795 is for a little cheaper--and you can still get aftermarket triggers for that rifle, too!

Have both a 10/22 TD and a PC9. Both are funguns. Love em.

Also have a Savage A22 with a 25 BC mag. (prefer the 10 round mag)

Agree Ruger got the short stick on this one...

Why you can stick a 25 BC mag in the Savage and not in the Ruger...is pure BS.

Unless someone is forcing you to buy one; there is lots of others to choose from.

Customizable? Yup; it's a hobby, I get it but a Chrysler LeBaron was still just a K Car:

I would say the 10/22 is the equivalent of lego for grown ups, you get the base set then get add on's to make it into any configuration you want.
As for the hi capacity magazines, they can be useful if your shooting hi volume targets like gopher patches. My favorite was the dueling tree with 100 round drums when the 2 shooters are evenly matched. Sometimes after all 200 rounds were expended there is no clear winner or it comes down to just one target. This got quite exciting when tempo is up but so is the accuracy. 10 round mags also have their place when you want to slow things down for long range accuracy or hunting where you want the most ethical harvest possible.

My vudoo v22 makes the other rifles I have and had includI’m anashufz 1710,1712 seem like chevettes lol. Maybe not that bad but close lol. Ferrari compared to those

Let's see those Vudoo rifles put an end to Rabid's 1/4" frustration thread (if they can, of course).:p

The thread will not end when one individual finds success, it will live on for all those still attempting and finding frustration in the challenge. Not that I've comprehensively looked through all the postings on Vudoo rifle accuracy, but from what I've seen, they're good shooters but not quite at the level to make any waves in Big League Bench Rest. 1/4" 5x5 might be a bit more than they can handle. Too bad they went with cut rifled barrels.

As for 10/22's, never liked them. Reminds me of those obnoxious Honda Civics that sound like a dying gazelle with a massive spoiler on the back that, let's be honest bud, is only slowing you down and makes you look like a tool. You can dress them up, but they still suck. Or, you can dump a ton of money into one for, well.... mediocre performance. I don't get it

Although it reads that way, I didn't intend to make it sound as though the thread would end. I meant that with all the fuss about the Vudoo rifles, Vudoo shooters could show the rest of us that they can do the job and show that Vudoo shooters need not be frustrated at all. Time will tell if that happens. We haven't yet seen a Vudoo on the 1/2" challenge thread, either.

With regard to the 10-22 comparison to the Corolla, earlier I said the more apt analogy was the Yugo. For those who don't remember the Yugo, think of it as a Kia stripped down to the barest essentials and then divide by two. That's the stock 10-22 by way of comparison.

Not sure if it's the equivalent to a Corrola. And I will get tons of flack for saying this, but i have never in my life have required more than a 10 round mag for anything ever. I'm fine with it.

The only people i ever see using a 25 round or bigger mag is at the range who cant shoot worth a #### go PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW in rapid succession and miss the hell out of the target at 50 yards.

Useless and pointless. No skill whatsoever.

I shoot ALOT and only use 10 round mags in matches requiring 10 rounds.

I agree with you on this one, not to mention all the 25’er Butler Creek mags work like crap after a very short period of time and the factory mags just keep going and going.

More like a base Jeep than a Corolla.

As for Ruger and the Charger Mag, I really don't think they GAF about the Canadian market when rolling out product.
