X-Reload

That was supposed to happen in March, I went to a seminar about it and it seems like a sure thing. Then it all went on hold.
It wasn't wasn't going to remove components from ITAR. It was just going to make them easier to export from the USA.

Regards, Henry

Your website says youre closed until september?

I was recently looking to order 2 boxes of bullets from X-Reload. But when I compared them to cabelas I was surprised that they were about 4-6 dollars a box less from cabelas. I got free shipping and only paid 5% tax(instead of 15%) They were cheaper shipped from Alberta than from a store less than 20 minutes away. I saved like 20 bucks on my order.

That is why I always shop around when I need to buy any reloading components. Nobody yet has earned my business with eyes closed. I do the drill every single order I need to place. Depending on the item, timing, promo sales and shipping, it doesn't seem to be a single place where you always pay less with the total cost. Best is usually to drive to X-reload if you can. Their prices are usually aligned with the market, but shipping is a deal breaker even if you are within 200km from their shop. I shoot too much to afford not to shop for the best price on components.

The first time I dropped by I got a guy at the counter who gave me attitude because I hadn't pre ordered everything. I guess they don't like walk ins. He was in a crap mood because he had to create me in the computer and actually talk to me about what I was looking for.

What kind of jerk goes to a retailer looking for advice about the products they sell. How dare I not know everything about what he's selling.

I prefer higginson but his product lines aren't as varied as x-reload. Extremely friendly and super knowledgeable about his products. Also he sells imr powder at about 8-9 bucks a pound cheaper than the closest competitor

Many other guys I know had the same experience you had. I guess I was lucky the last 2 times I got there. It was a new guy, long beard and very friendly. But they are much more a warehouse than a retail store for sure.

Higginson's web site looks like it's from the early days of the inter web. If they modernized their web site they could probably double their sales. Don't let their site fool you they know their business and they've got good prices.

I've only bought things from X-reload that I couldn't seem to get anywhere else, as they had it and also a couple of other things that I could use, to help alleviate the freight issue. Seems to me the last two were both Forster items, a primer tray for the bench tool and lock rings, their price worked out cheaper than the US pricing, and because had them on hand. I have bought some Tubal powders out of there, as they had what nobody else had, and I tossed in some bullets that were on sale to make it worth the freight cost, so to speak.

Finally made it to X-Reload when I was in the area in April. Was expecting more of a storefront, but much like Higginson it's just a counter with all their inventory warehoused in the back. That's ok with me.

The guy was friendly as could be though he didn't say much. I'm not much of a talker so wasn't there to have a conversation or ask questions.

It's best to have everything at least added to your online cart and he can pull up your account (if not all ordered and paid for in advance) and print off what you want.

It's an online business with a store front for pickup.. can't expect more than that as that's what their business model is, can't fault that.

They did however, go above and beyond and go through a recent Wilson shipment that had yet to be added to the website. As a result I immediately placed another order of a few hundred bucks. Can't fault that either.

Yes, their shipping is high, but considering I can't go to McDonalds now for less than $15, paying $20-$25 for shipping isn't so bad to get hard to find items or a good deal.

I use to buy most of my components from x-reload but since their shipping has increased I buy only what I can't get elsewhere. Purchased 3 lbs of powder and a few other small items from another dealer here in Quebec a couple of weeks ago and shipping to the door was $13.95. With x-reload it would have been close to $50.
