Bear Fatality

Bears don't respond well to spoken commands....

Lard tunderin' she's an irritating b**ch. She's the absolute epitome of a whiny citiot. She started toward the Bear with the pepper spray. She's lucky she didn't get ripped up,too. I can't think of a worse way to die than an animal attack. That's a terrible tragedy, but,Blackies are gradually losing their fear of humans. Not good.

The police lie constantly it's actually part of their job. They also lie to protect themselves. Do you live under a rock?

Yes, that's right they ARE damned if they do and damned if they don't. That is the cost of being afforded the power society grants them...

Ummm, do you live under a rock?
There is a difference here in which the OPP had been tasked to look for this woman who went looking for her dogs when she didnt return.
The OPP Officers encountered not one, but three aggressive bears on or near the remains.
The OPP members decided to shoot the first aggressive bear for what ever reason and recovered the deceased victim of this unfortunate accident.
They had a job to do and did it very well.Black lives matter and they took care of the one that was of the most concern to them.
I wasnt there, nor were you and to infer the Police lied in this case and in every case so they could shoot one bear and not all three is plain folly.
But, I digress because I live under a rock.
The chain of events I mention are from the National Post and ffs I just upchucked (just a little mind you) for giving that rag what little credit they mustered in reporting the tragic death of an elderly woman who was relaxing at her cottage at the start of the Labor Day Weekend.

One more time for those with reading comprehension issues - all three bears were dispatched.
The other two were probably cubs.

Tragic story and those blaming the victim for not carrying bear spray should be ashamed.
My guess is the dogs got a momma bear riled up and were a contributing factor.
My wife was picking fiddle heads one spring below our house, coonhound was along. She heard a ruckus ahead and assume it was some deer moving out when the dog ran to her with an angry bear on its heels. She turned and ran out to the quad at the field edge all the time thinking ā€œI probably shouldn’t be runningā€ and expecting the worst. She cleared a huge deadfall that would take me 5 minutes to pick through, doesn’t remember if she went over, under or through.
That same dog would get my cows chasing it and then run to me and stand between my legs.
To summarize, people get a sense of security if the dogs along, don’t.

She went to check on her dogs.
Why weren't they leashed or inside a fenced enclosure?
Is this a FN rural story?
Remember that young lady a few years back, a pack of loose dogs on a reserve killed her?
Am I out of line asking these questions??

Personally, if I lived on Ontario-Manitoba border and my dogs were loose in the forest, I would not feel comfortable without something to protect myself. Anything.

She has the only residence on the island and you expect her dogs to be chained up/ fenced?
I’m guessing she was perfectly comfortable in the woods without ā€œprotectionā€. Just like pretty well every rural Canadian I know. This goes in the ā€œsh!t happensā€ file just like lightning stroke imo.

I have a folding short barrel 12g I take with me when going in the woods at camp. Be great to be able to simply holster a handgun on private property but nooooo, that would be wrong😱. Makes no sense to me or the office of retired coppers I work with everyday.
