Light rifles are for hunting and killing game. The only thing that really matters are that the first shot (or maybe 2 shots) are put in the right place. They aren't for sittign down and shooting 10 round groups in a few minutes.

Get a good load, and know where your first bullet hits. If you can hit a 8" target, every time, at as far a distance as you plan to shoot game, that's all that really matters- although most good light rifles are much more accurate than that.

They accentuate a flinch, poor triggers, lousy follow through etc. But in grand human fashion people like to blame something else.

I definitely have to concentrate on the fundimentals a lot harder to shoot a decent group with my kimbers than other rifles, but when I do they’re plenty accurate at any sane distance I will ever shoot. Takes a bit of practise but it’s well worth packing a couple less pounds on a challenging hunt.

We got on quite a few. Didn’t kill any. Probably should have shot one of them.

My 15 year old son was shooting a Kimber Montana, so a likely miss anyway.

That weatherby round seems awfully close to the 6.5 prc.

I want to see a 6.5-378 weatherby.

The lowly old 6.5 Rem Mag shoots those bullets faster without even trying.


Edit: I dug around for the case capacity of the 6.5 RPM which is reported at 81 gr H2O
6.5 RM is 70.
6.5 PRC is near 70 iirc

They sure do. There's no replacement for displacement.

Too bad the 270 WCF wasn't on the graphic, 140 accubond at 2950.

The Creedmore is ###, and not in a good way. My 6.5x55 made in 1903 can do anything it can.

Agree. I have 2, one savage, one Blaser. The cartridge is the prettiest cartridge ever made. Good looking and good shooting, what do you not like?

Eight nights. We covered 70km on a horse and 60-65 on foot. All tracked by GPS. It is the horse miles that worry me for zeros.
