BCL 102 buyers remorse

I’ll be looking to upgrade my BCL 102 in the future. I’m currently thinking of going with the Stag10, but without seeing a living Troy102, would I be wise to wait?
 
Get the Stag 10 and just add parts that you like, on mine I have everything stag except for the buffer tube/ buttstock assembly and the bolt carrier group, I have a Brownells nickel boron, I love the BCG, I cut down a long handguard to fit a A2 front sight post on my barrel I suck at reshaping but I like it lol

First off buyers remorse,,,, the 50 threads on bcl 102’s and even the distributer dumping them didn’t tip you off???

Second,,,, I want to upgrade my BCL 102, I know let’s go buy a Troy 102 who bought and are using the blueprints from bcl 102.

Third,,,, make good life choices and buy a stag 10 I also give it 6months and the Troy will fall in line with BCL prices anyway.
 
I was an early 2017 preorder. I’ve never had any problems personally with my rifle. Just soaking in all the reviews over the last two years has really helped me decide I need something better.
 
Have there been any complaints on the STAG? (with he exception of minor QC issues and user error)

Why? What is the problem with it?
I changed my BCL102 factory trigger and furniture and have been 100% satisfied ever since.
The only real problem is that it's a 308 Win and it made me remember why I loved the AR15 so much - very low recoil and less expensive ammo.

A better rifle might make you happier but it might only make you poorer ;)

There hasn't been very much information released on the troy, which is a bit of a red flag when they won't disclose what the receivers are made of. But for the price it will be you might as a well get the stag.
 
How many negative BCL threads vs. STAG-10 threads? That should be all the indication you need. It really blows me away that the BCL sells at all now.

1. People are cheap
2. Impulsive buyer sees a non restricted 308 for $1500 in a store and has to buy it.
 
The only real problem I have with it is I’m a lefty. The low profile brass deflector isn’t enough to throw brass out enough not to hit me in the cheek. I had to rig up a quick fix, and I’m not too pleased with it. I hunt with it as well, and it hasn’t failed me at all.
 
The surest way to becoming poor was to pre-order a BCL102... They currently sell for what 1100$?? That's a huge loss. And that's only 1100$ if you're still lucky. If you're unlucky it doesn't work or exploded and is worth 0$.

I'd be weary of putting anything with "102" in it in my safe. Troy might be generally good but the design is still NEA/BCL's. Is the barrel nut going to have the holes in it that make the gun explode, that was part of the BCL design? Is it going to have the sloped ejector that is part of the BCL design? The undersized gas port? ...

Another vote for Stag 10.

I thought the price was going to be around $1800 at sfrc. That's a pretty steep impulse buy, and when you're already spending that kind of money I don't see why you wouldn't splurge and get a stag for $150 more.

Might not hurt to look at a Caldwell brass catcher. Get the picatinny version

I bought both a Benelli MR1 and a BCL 102 and the BCL 102 was a far better economic decision ;)
I've only resold 2 guns in my life because I really hated them: a Stainless Ruger Mini-14 in the 1990s and a Benelli MR1 last year!!!
(I love products from both Ruger and Benelli but both of these drove me mad/crazy/exasperated)

As for a left-hander getting mad/fed up/crazy after getting burning hot 308 Win brass in the face, I can only agree with him.
