First off, you can knock off the ad hominem attack. You don’t need to own something to form an opinion about it.
Second, I went and read your old posts, you don’t have a problem commenting on guns you don’t own.
Third, you’ve had problems with your BCL102.
I have to agree with this. Too many keyboard warriors that spout on about things they know little or nothing about.
That being said, when I go down the 308 semi auto route again, I'll be getting a stag. Only because I can buy a receiver set and build it the way I want it with a pencil profile barrel. I really truly dislike the med profile barrel on the BCL-102, it makes the rifle far too heavy and I didn't notice a difference in accuracy after I installed the faxon barrel on my BCL-102.
No, but the person who owns one should have their opinion carry more weight.
For the cost of the firearms now, I'd buy a second BCL102, and use the saved money over a stag to buy a fancy pants barrel and upgrade the thing.
Not at all, I was getting 1.5 MOA with surplus norc ammo. never got around do developing any sort of load for it. It was better than the BCL barrel for surplus at least, and did not lose accuracy up to about 10 round strings of fire. I'll buy another when I do a build.
Thats a good point, and that is what I did. It worked out well.
I owned a Gen 1 and a Gen 2. Not to mention several other NEA rifles throughout the years. None were kept more than a month since I tired of adjusting, fixing and replacing parts to make them work as they should. I knew I was likely to be disappointed but I am blessed with enough disposable income to dabble with ####ty guns on a whim. Sounds like a lot of guys here are speaking from experience, and those that aren't have plenty of reading material to base their opinions on.

I’ve tried to use brass catchers at work, it sucks! Ejection port side is always towards the body when the rifle is slung, brass catchers always get hung up on gear and get in the way.
I own both.
NEA/BCL102 = good design, ####ty execution. Mine works, but with no shortage of parts replacement and ####ing around. The only thing BCL about it is the upper and lower, everything else is in the parts bin.
Stag10 = good design, good execution. Just works.

Everyone seems to want to attack those who speak ill of the 102 but yet have no actual, factual rebuttal to:
1. Barrel nut lightening holes can lead to improper indexing of the barrel extension and therefore cause the guns to explode.
2. The sloped ejector is a design flaw that requires purchase of another ejector or replacement by BCL in order for the gun to properly cycle.
3. The gas port is undersized also leading to poor cycling.
4. BCL customer service has no phone number, decides to shut down at will, cannot keep employees and holds people's guns for months.
5. There is confirmation that the Troy 102 is based on the NEA/BCL TDP but no actual confirmation that any of the above design flaws have been fixed.
6. Those who pre-ordered payed 1800$ with guns currently selling for 1100$.
I've spent money on NEA garbage so I believe I am entitled to an opinion even though I was not burned by this specific model.
Don't get me wrong I will support Canadian manufacturing when I can, but I have no patience for shameful products like this.

There was absolutely QC issues with some rifles and BCL, if you have an issue, go to their web site, create an RMA and they will fix it for free.
Current turnaround is two weeks.
If you want to upgrade your BCL and have it shoot very well and Sub MOA or better, contract Ryan at International Barrels inc.
Ryan Steacy just won his 6th!!!! DCRA National Service Conditions Championship in Ottawa and knows his $hit.
He can tell you all about their IBI BCL barrels, and why they use a Rifle length gas tube and why they don't recommend the mid-length BCL OEM barrel.
I have yet to pull the trigger, and I just bought new CZ Shadow 2 which was on sale, and I am trying to decide between the .308 or 6.5 Creedmore IBI barrel.
BCL is at TACCOM.
