Has the SKS become the Canadian shooter's equivalent of the Ford 150?

When was that? Chinese SKSs were $60-75 in the 90's. Russian ones never went below $150 to my knowledge.

I was buying nice blued versions for $160.00 about 8-10 years ago. Marstar was selling Chinese versions for $75.00 if you bought a case of ammo.

But most will start in -40, which is rather SKSish...

Like I mentioned earlier, Ive driven Ladas, and Ive shot plenty of SKS;s The Sks is way better, its like comparing a russian tractor to a Ferrari. The SKS is pretty good for its intended purpose. They are not super accurate, but I wouldn't gamble standing n front of one.

I don’t know if someone’s going to be affected, but, I will say it, I have Wk 180 c and Dodge Ram 1500 and I like em both. I use to have a sks but the accuracy was awful for me but, I like the bayo. Not the mags. No offence.

I have a F150 and an SKS, and both are pretty good. Maybe I got lucky on both.....
Ive had Dodge and GMC trucks that have been both some good and some bad in the past. Overall the Fords have been the best all around so far.

Not really. those are the douchebags that shoot up fridges in the bush and leave them .

I own an Crap-Co SKS. Still has the original parts, is a great gun for newbies, and I don't wear flat-brimmed caps, nor do I leave refuse at the range.

If you don't like them, don't buy them.

I agree with that statement. Common, now with the current political power, good way to rub it in there face.
Would be like trying to pick rice off the floor....with your hands.

Similar douchebags have always been around. They've been a thorn in the sides of firearms enthusiasts ever since I can remember noticing such things and the comments about it.

As for the SKS, I've used a couple under stressful conditions, as a weapon of choice and IMHO, they are not only adequate for their intended purpose but excel in the right hands of people who are familiar with their limitations. I've hunted with them and find them lacking for they type of hunting I like to do.

Considering what went into its design and how much it would cost to make them today, the SKS and its variants are a bargain and so is the surplus ammo that is available.

People turn their noses up at them because they are common and cheap. Also because they are so easily affordable some rifle snobs thumb their noses at them and call them all sorts of derogatory names.

The same things used to be said about Lee Enfields, Mausers and anything else that was milsurp. Some people still curl their noses up at anything milsurp.

Cyclone is absolutely right, anything that irritates Bill Blair is to be pursued.
