Since the Liberal Government claims they will purchase you assault rifle at fair market value.
Does the CRA step in and make the payment's a taxable benefit??

And how would they even enforce that without a registry?

Easy;

when you applied for a Possession and Acquisition License, you waived your right to legal protection from illegal search and seizure.

The CFO can come to your house at any time and inspect your firearms and storage without a warrant.

When you applied for permission to own illegal property (all guns are illegal in Canada, BTW), you became a second class citizen, no longer afforded the protections of the Constitution, or the Charter of Rights.

At least, that's how I understand our wacky gun laws.

And how would they even enforce that without a registry?

Easily, it will be well covered in the media that it is now illegal for any civilian to own any firearm. It will be a big win for the left, they'll be dancing in the streets that are safer than ever before.
Then when you go shoot your gun that you hid (even out on the farm) all it will take is one neighbor or hiker or whoever to hear the shots and call the cops. The cops will then come out and take away whatever you have, then while you're in custody and unable to properly hide what you have they'll get a warrant to search your property and they'll take the rest of your firearms to the smelter and you to the rapery.

We live in Canada not the US, we don't have the same protections in our charter of rights that they have in their constitution. Hell, they can come and take your home if they want even if it's fully paid off. They don't even need a reason other than that they want to.

They are going after and banning all military 'style' firearms.

Restricted or non restricted, AR or not, rifle or shotgun it does not matter.

All that matters is they say it is military style as they define it.

Which means that they'll twist it to include every firearm including muzzle loaders

Sad, scary even, and true.
For now our only hope is Conservative and you should be convincing everyone around you of the dishonesty of this Trudeau govt.

Keep these in the politics sections. Not here. It’s scary, I know, but this is the 858 debacle all over again. Saying and doing are 2 different things. They will say this and end up not doing it because it will be too expensive. However they can then say they tried and put the money they would have put towards the ban to literally any other social program and come out on top. Result? They will be prohibited and prevent future generations from owning them and “save the taxpayers money” by NOT doing a buyback.

I find it funny when people think voting will get them out of this mess. Has voting ever changed anything for the better? People vote to get something for themselves or take something away from someone else. It's pointless. That's why the majority of people don't vote. The agenda will proceed in the direction the money wants it to. Your vote is absolutely meaningless. A Conservative government will eventually come for your guns too. The writing has been on the wall for decades.

This foolishness crosses your mind? Your first and only thought should be civil disobedience to corrupt, unjust law.

So what is your point? Better yet, what is your solution for keeping our legally-acquired firearms/property? Or are you suggesting that we should just roll over because decades of writing on the wall?

If they institute a buyback wouldn't all they be able to legally confiscate ( buyback) is the lower and upper receivers specific to the AR15 ? The rest are just assorted gun parts that are changeable and can be used in other guns ? My bolt action rifles use the grip and stock a non restricted modern sporter can use everything but the barrel if it's under 18.5" that is.

Absolutely! Government ALWAYS gives with one hand and takes away with the other. Anyone who thinks they're getting a government cheque for whatever they paid is dreaming in technicolor. The most we'll get is a non-refundable tax credit. No cash will ever change hands.
