Turknelli M4 is HERE AT LAST!!!! TAC 12 BY Trigger wholesale!!!!

Wow.. My post got nuked also...
My gun is already paid for anyways..as are all the others
My point of the post ..which obviously got missed
Was that if there is a glitch in these guns??? To not ship anymore ..
In other words ..fix the glitch before you ship

i think if there is a glitch in these guns its going to take more people getting out and shooting them first to find it. sometimes issues aren't immediately apparent until you get enough end user feedback. im hoping these guns that are having issues are just lemons and not what we can expect from the turknelli. now if a large number of guys start experiencing an issue and report it to s&j or whoever they bought from, maybe that issue can be reported back to the turks for them to fix it

does anyone know if these can fire out of battery? i notice if you ease the bolt forward it sometimes doesn't go into battery but if you squeeze the trigger it will still click and the bolt will rotate and lock fully into battery. i know some guns can do this but have a mechanism which prevents the firing pin from protruding enough to detonate a primer if the bolt isnt fully forward.

Check out this video beginning at the 2:00 mark

Supposedly the same as the M4

thank you, that answered my question perfectly, and eliminated my theory that perhaps that handguard retaining ring blew out of that members shotgun because of an out of battery, but that video disproved that idea

what i did notice was at the 1:44 time mark, when the pistons hit the bolt carrier and the gun flexes as guns do under fire, you see the handguard, handguard ring, and receiver separate a tiny bit. im wondering maybe the member with the issue had a sticky case and that extra bit of resistance of the bolt carrier against the pistons created a just slightly larger gap than usual and caused the ring to dislodge, he did say when he disassembled the gun everything looked normal.

im just throwing ideas out there

Good theory. Maybe the tolerance on that unit is bigger than usual and the handguard popped out during cycling, and hit the retaining plate as it tried to return to the plate, causing it to come off.

Yikes. Mine is not as obvious. Some early QA issues? I'll report back once I've shot it lol

Yours is a bit better for sure, but given that Sulun is pro-ported as a better then average Turkish manufacturer they should be pretty much perfect or at least not visibly leaning left or right..... you don't need any tools that god (allah) didn't already provide to see that these sights "missed" the mark!

Some people don't seem to notice or mind, but I find canted sights distracting and hard to ignore.

The retractable pistol grip stock on mine is also twisted out of alignment with the rest of the gun but I was planning on running the non pistol grip unit.

I guess since they are sold out it's a bit too late for S&J to do a quick un-bagging and visual inspection but it would have helped me as I ordered early.

These guns remind me of the Norinco M305's and 1911's..... lot's of potential but some random lemons and probably a bit of "tuning" required and of course the occasional gem out of the box..... :)

Turkey can do better then this.

got mine today...also confirm a slight cant on the sight(s) and a very slight misalignment of the rail with the sight (or sight being misaligned with the rail, more likely) will have more time to check it out on the weekend.

Question: is there a recommended break-in procedure (full power loads for the first x-number of shots)?

I disassembled mine completely last night and lubed it up, ready for range testing. The gas piston plugs were in good shape and I was able to hand loosen/tighten both of them. O-rings looked good without marks.

The bolt itself has a nice smooth finish. As for the firing pin retaining pin, the thing is tight enough even without an o-ring in place so it's not going anywhere lol. Needed a small hammer to punch it out.

Trigger assmebly is polymer but solid. I believe newer Benellis also come with the same.

I called S&J but no answer. The gun just blew out it's handguard retainer or whatever it's called. I actually got it on video. Here is a pic since I dunno how to post videos. Needless to say I am done shooting this thing. I hope there is no grief over a straight refund. I have no interest in dealing with this.

i just noticed there is a ring at the base of the mag tube where it threads into the receiver, if that ring is backed off by a tiny bit the handguard retaining plate can swing out of the way like in your pic. its possible the ring loosened under recoil or whatever and under the flex and vibration of shooting the retaining plate dislodged

That is good though. And thatt could happen.
But we have stripped about 15 of these for cerakote.
Some of them have loc tite so strong that we had to take a gas torch to melt the loc tite. The heat gun did not touch it
And some had none at all..

ah, mine had absolutely no loktite at all, the ring is able to be loosened with finger strength alone. i might throw a dab of blue on there at some point just in case my theory was the reason, a dab of blue would go a long way to prevent it

It sounds like the quality control and consistency is lacking on this first shipment.

Simon, are you guys currently painting barrels with front sights that look like mine below ?
