The right turn towards Cranberry Junction has an option of turning left which will take you to Kincolith and you will be to the coast by then. A very beautiful drive and all paved. Follows the Nass River out to the coast. Just another distraction, sorry about that.

Ill deffently get hyderized, ive read about that on line the other day.
Bland, yeah i am packing a lot into this trip. Im not sure when ill be back and and i want to see the north half of the province. If i had an extra week there id also be going to bella coola.

The issue is, flying with rifles isnt so fun and there is a 50$ fee per rifle each way..so 200$ in fees and dealing with getting to the airport early to clear them.
It would be sweet if i could mail them to someone close to where ill be going and then pick them up when i get there and pay the person some money for picking them up at the post office and meeting up with me.
This isnt for a while. It will be june 11 i land at 6:40pm
So some time between june 11 and when i get to telegraph creek on the 13th
I got the tickets moves as late as i can ( after reading some comments about bugs and high water) without it costing any more. Flights in july and aug are expencive lol.

There is no problem with you carrying a weapon of some sort while hiking in BC. You don't need a hunting License, but you could get a small game non resident lic if you wish, although there won't be much open in June anyway (Maybe rabbits?) All the north of BC is pretty amazing country. Ask the car rental place to throw another spare tire in the trunk.
And carry a Slime tire inflation kit...

Well it will cost 50$ to ship both rifles each way. So 100$ and no issues easy going time, Like selling on the EE
Or 200$ plus 15%tax and get to the airport early and deal with what ever westjet has instore for me.
Its not the money..id pay someone 100 to help me out..so the cost is the same. Its dealing with dumb fees and people at the airport.
And i wouldnt say shipping damage is common. Hard case in a box.
So really, its cheaper, easier, faster and i know my rifle is sitting waiting for me when i get there.

Evanguy I have trusted friends with PAL in telegraph and Dease if you want to mail them a rifle and mail it back to yourself after your trip. They could help you out with a place to stay and river transport as well. PM me if interested.
Both of these are really good idea that i had not thought of. The only issue i can see that may arise is how long it can sit at the post office. If its over a week that could work.
Also that cabin is really cool, id love to be able to find something like that in my travels, probably a little far away from telegraph creek for my hiking experinces. I also checked out where hearts peak is. That is the direction i was thinking of heading opposed to glenor or back the road in.
And Slimbo, ill send you a PM. The friends in telegraph creek and the river transport has peaked my interest. Ive been in talks with these people and plan to stay here, Hyland Creek Bed and Breakfast. They shared a driveway with the Hebb's, thats who my buddy stayed with. So i was told the people who own this are real nice folks
Well after spending the last week or so reading everthing i can find on the Telegraph creek Atlin trail and ordering a few books of peoples lives living on the trail i plan to hike the 265km strech some day. Maybe the following year.
I have also read as many things as i can find on sheslay free mike. The whole story around him is very interesting.
While in telegraph creek i was going to hike some of the trail anyway. Maybe to saloon lake, camp there and do some fishing.
But all this reading has me wanting to atleast hike to sheslay. seems like a good spot to make it too. Not very far but far enough to get a feel for the area.
So i think im going to try and find this cabin.
Does anyone have any info of where it is, direcrions there or gps cords?
If you fly with WestJet, they don't charge you the handling fee for rifles (this might have changed) as long as you don't have a ton of connections, then flying with guns is pretty hassle-free. We run 30ish clients a year from the states, multiple connections and a border crossing, and I have never had one show up without a rifle. Flew back east last year for a whitetail hunt with my 280 no problem, and have flown a few times in province without issues as well. Even the major cities see enough hunters travelling through them that the airports are well equipped. Read their "by-laws" beforehand, as some airlines will have their own rules that are more strict than the Gov regs ( some airlines allow ammo packed separately in the rifle case, some do not). It's pretty easy

So that could be 50$ per rifle fee and then also 30$ per rifle baggage fees. 160$ total
Or it could be 80$ total. Either way costs more and cant be more easy then sending a rifle in the mail.
