Federal gold medal match
For reloads you have to find what works but I once read 45gr varget with a 168gr smk 2.800 oal is pretty close to the gmm.
175gr Black Hills Ammunition. The civilian version of the M118LR
You would try some Lapua Lockbase 170 grs just after your 175 GMM Sierra , you might be amaze, these are a well kept secret. The federal match with the 175 grain Sierra matchking

I've actually heard of those lapua rounds I was curious but the local gun shop he's selling a pack of 20 for 250 bucks someone actually bought them, a box of PPE use full metal jacket 7.62 x 39mm was 28 dollars, I'm tempted to go find some bulk deals and ask someone to go in on them with me lol, tho work needed haha
Another vote for Federal Gold Medal Match (often abbreviates to FGMM or GMM).
I hear lots of good things about black hills as also mentioned here, though I think it’s availability is much more limited in Canada compared to US.
As far as comment above regarding reloading, it’s worth it if you’re shooting frequently enough. If you target shoot the odd time, dropping the money on a reloading setup might be impractical. It also can be time consuming, though once you get the hang of things to can most certainly fine tune your load for your rifle.
FGMM needs to work in everyone’s rifle.... when reloading it’ll be custom to exactly your rifle.
Lapua Scenar 155 grs /167 gr and Lapua Lockbase 170 gr, i have over 75 X 308 rifles and in most of them these factory fodders are the best you can get unless you reload.
I buy my factory ammo from Hirsh.
PS: my take is that Federal GMM is good ammo but the Lapua factory ammo is just higher in the food chain. YMMV.![]()
