Looks like the Vietnamese are making some enfields on whatever tooling they still have from AIA. Wonder if we can get them here? (some other interesting stuff there too)

Yes, it's almost a year old post, stumbled on it looking for the new AM rifles they are making...

Cool, want one! The machine work looks so clean compared to what were used to seeing in the rough surfaces of enfields.

AIA hummm made in Vietnam. Now it makes sense. all the hun bug about stock made in Vietnam.

Quote "controversy involving Australian International Arms wherein the company (now closed) as to what was actually produced in Australia and what was being produced in Vietnam."

The savage barrel are a pre-fit and use the barrel nut. An AR barrel won't fit. But there is no reason not to get a pre-fit barrel in .500 AutoMax and perhaps some mag tweaking.

There was a carbine version before. No doubt this model could be made again.
Nothing is going to happen without an importer/distributor entering into an arrangement with VDI.

Wow! I guess that answers that question, doesn't it?

Problem for people was, why were they so expensive if made in Vietnam?

As far as I remember not to many were brought to Canada and they took awhile to sale anyway. May be market changed
