Coyotes and Roadrunners on the other hand...Coyotes and deer have lived in the same environments for thousands of years. They have learned how to coexist quite well, so I wouldn't sweat it.
killing some especially in spring will help with fawn mortality rates but thats about it.
"Killing Coyotes only makes them produce more" is animal rights, bunny hugger bullshyte being fed to a gullible public that doesn't know better. Whack every one you see,Deer or no Deer.
Then please explain how they did so much better than wolves during the "kill all predators" days of yore?
Not only did they survive, they expanded their range during that time.
Maybe, because wolves were the main target? Who knows? The most we can do is keep the population numbers under some form of control.
id say early spring before pups are born. when you kill the mom your eliminating up to 6 of the fawn eating buggersWhen in the spring would be best?

Coyote numbers are way up locally.
Deer numbers are down.
Even does are hard to come by out in the bush.
Hence my interest in taking up a new sport.

I was watching the "sportsman channel" the coyote problem is so bad in Ontario you can hunt them year round.
