return of the AIA enfields possible?

AIA's North American marketing was a mess. This affected availability and pricing.
Some of the final work may have been done in Australia, just like the made in India muskets that are finished off in Nova Scotia.
 
I think Marstar brought the guns that were not allowed to US due to some issue with sanctions against Vietnam at that moment in history. I used to have AIA in their sporter model, it was nice accurate gun
 
If anyone here has details of a current manufacture please e-mail to John@wolverinesupplies.com and I will look into it but I thought production had stopped years ago.

There was a problem with importation into the US. The batch we imported and sold in Canada, if I remember correctly they were all 7.62x39, came from Saber Defence UK. So these rifles had been shipped into the US and then exported to the UK and then imported into Canada by Wolverine. Talk about going the expensive long way round! This was a one off job lot. A problem we had was they were designed to use AK mags so they had to be blocked to 5 rds. That was years ago, they didn't sell partially quickly and our margin was small. I wish I had kept one for myself but I had other priorities at the time.

I remember well...people squawked at the pricing, since they were made in Vietnam.

Bringing them in at the same high price...might see few sell.
 
I liked the 7.62x39 I had from Wolverine. It was heavy for what it was, but shot well. In the end, someone else wanted it more than I did.
 
I have one of the x39 AIA. Great looking, decent shooting rifle. Like said above, you can't use the surplus ammo, and it's awkward as hell if you try any mag over the 10 rounder. Would love to get the .308 #4 version but havent had the cash when they occasionally go on the EE
