Hello i would like to convert a prohibited class to restrected class pistol
How do i do that...do i have only to swipe barrel and do the paper work
And where can i find those barrel thank you
Contact Elwood Epps in ON, or Bits of Pieces in BC, I've had rebarreling done by both. Both are slow at the work as well as communication. But both have done excellent jobs with nice blued barrels.
Regarding paperwork, the original 12.6 owner has to send (sell/transfer)them to the gunsmith who will then complete the work, re-register as restricted and then transfer to you. That's how it worked for me.
Good luck.
the pistol his from and old friend ... so he want to give me is ppk don't have 12.6
that why
Why wouldn't it just require sending pistol to the 'smith, have work done, verified, & paperwork for re-register sent into CFC?

NAA.
If I recall, not all smiths can work on prohibs. If the gun is already a .380, then just the barrel needs done. If he is converting a .32 to a .380, then more work is involved.

In my case both 12.6 were bought from stores, so I did not deal with the owner ( both were consignment). The store sent the gun to the gunsmith, the work was done, re-registered and then the transfer was done. I picked up the one from Elwood Epps in person and the other one was mailed to me.
