canadian gun owners are impossible to please

Actually they're easy to please. You give thousands of dollars for a product and the product should work. If it doesn't the company should make it right 100% on them. Full stop. They should also be forthcoming and honest about clear and obvious faults with their product.
I'll even rewind a bit.
A company develops a product. Rushes it to market and charges full price for it as a developed functioning product. The product is dodgy. Some work, some dont. Some parts of the design are deeply flawed. Company blames the user, blames the items that interact with their product. Make you pay to send it to them to fix a product they didnt make properly AFTER you dropped 1k+ on it and waited months to get. They do this while quietly making changes to un#### their mistakes and then announce them as enhancements...after previously dismissing them or blaming the user etc now imagine we aren't talking about a gun. Let's apply this to a power tool, high end watch, piece of tech like a scope or range finder.
If it was YOU in that position you wouldn't be very "possible to please" either.
With all due respect Sir, it's pretty arrogant to make a statement like this and think it's reasonable just because we're limited to choices on firearms in this country. So we should all just bend over and get ####ed and smile while it happens?

No thanks. We'll agree to disagree on that.

Under $2K???.... Nahh... I guess you never heard about the new DMR mag release paddle? Combine that with the awesome DMR safety and we're now talking $2500 worth of DMR awesomeness....

Better hope they don't add a new DMR trigger and DMR flash hider and DMR pistol grip....:stirthepot2:

$500 increase for every new DMR "feature"... LMFAO!!!:jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:

I heard NS is currently working on a DMR paint, mag release and bolt release !

This will justify a DMR price hike...

Oh man I'm sure the Liberals and Bill Blair are happy as a pig in sh*t right now.

Discord within the firearms industry and among Legal firearms owners is what they want I'm sure. If this was America I'd suspect some intelligence agency was involved but our CSIS seems dormant, right?

Kodiac released a letter(on instagram) stating the MSRP for the Wk-180C remains at $1095 CAD and they are not in discussions to change that.
Why would they? They’re probably making twice the profits now that the “middle man” has been eliminated. They’ll probably make more on the 180-c than they will on the nsr-180.

So you're saying that the new middle man (North Sylva) is going to distribute the rifle for free? That's awfully nice of them.

No. Who would do that? You understand how business works right? I’m not really into explaining either way.
I should’ve added, assuming they distribute themselves (kodiak).
At the very least, I’m sure they’ve got a better deal with North Silva. Otherwise why make a change. You’re pretty naive to think it’s not about money and more of it is going to the manufacture.

NS picks it up for 1095 Kodiak makes a cook 800
NS throws it up in the air like a batton - sometimes catches it on the way down - slaps a 404 (handling fee) and you can buy it from them for $1499 plus tax/shipping etc

no thank you

Devil's advocate here: we all remember how the M10x went down (or up in price). The M10X was presented as an NR rifle without a price tag so some Price Pimps mentionned that they would gladly pay more than the MSRP. A price was announced and was quickly "adjusted" after Wanstall announced the original price for this rifle.

Time will tell if the WK180 will follow the same path.

I have been a Wolverine Supply customer for almost 16 years now and I'm looking forward to doing business with them

I need no explaining. You're the one who spoke as if Kodiak was going to receive all the profits. You even confirm (by the part in bold) that I interpreted your post correctly.

I simply responded to what you wrote. Not my fault you missed the sarcasm. I even put the rolly eyes there to help...

Time for Wolverine to step up their proponents to the level they deserve to be at.

GO TO BROWNELLS AT SHOT SHOW

With their new AR180 features you could probably get some nice feature options, good quality Q/A and design partners and hopefully be able to create/team with a domestic shop.

Team up with the innovator of their market and blow it out of the water.

We all know Wolverine hasn't and doesn't fail on projects, just crimson-tape delayed or otherwise interfered with by others

Right the PRICE PIMPS.. gladly pay any price before price was even announced....]
And then bragging how much money they had and how you.I.. should get a second job

No. You interpreted in your own special way. When someone says the middle man is eliminated, that should interpret as distributing themselves. As in no middle man. In their statement they even leave it open saying “we typically don’t sell to the public”
In the end, it’s all speculation. We will see how it unfolds. We can all agree it’s about money. The manufacturer feels they struck a better deal. It’s unfortunate that only numbers are considered in meetings. The peeon consumer will take what he’s given. It’s the sign of the times. They’ll be manufactured in China before you know it!

Well since text is sometimes harder to interpret context in the manner that it was implied I may have interpreted it in my own special way :runaway:

But I'm sure we can all agree that what took place is about money and nothing else.

Kodiak was obviously offered a better deal from NS and it's just a matter of time until NS screws us by taking their pound of flesh directly from us. This rifle isn't going to stay $1095 for long.

Amazing post!

As soon as I seen that 'new one' , I knew something bad had to be going down. I will continue to support Wolverine (one of fewer and fewer shops sadly these days) ............. Can't say the same about kodiak or whomever they are conspiring with.

that new one is the ugliest POS ive ever seen

I’m not so sure it’s “about money and nothing else”.... I’m sure money is one of the issues but there is certainly more to this story. What does Westrifle have to do with this.

Obviously there’s more that Wolverine can’t discuss here because of future legal challenges so we shouldn’t be speculating on somethings we will never be privy to.
