My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Ladies and Gentlemen

Tonight calls for a celebration! May I present you with the first fully qualifying target for the 1/4" club! This has been a long time coming. Two years of shooting with my custom 455, thousands of dollars worth of ammo, innumerable close calls, yet today the planets and stars finally aligned. It was a few degrees above freezing, with very calm wind conditions. I had the range all to myself, so I could get in my rhythm and not be disturbed, which makes for a pleasant range day.

The Rifle: CZ 455 in custom Boyd's Pro-Varmint stock with custom, 24" straight 0.850" 3-groove Lilja barrel. Harrell's tuner at 238.
The Scope: Leupold Competition 45X
The Ammo: RWS R-50 Lot# 417IL319
The Rest: Caldwell Rock, wide front bag. Caldwell Rear Bag
Groups: 0.211", 0.244", 0.235", 0.209", 0.219"
Average: 0.224"

A celebratory beverage of home brewed German style Pils makes for a fine accompaniment to this lifetime achievement :)

CONGRATS RABIDM4U5!!!! I added you in the 3rd post as the first entry in to the 1/4” club.

A little cool and perhaps a better day could have be picked but 3 degrees will have to do.

Wow - 1/4" - just wow. I've watched this thread for years, was wondering when it would come to this!!

I'm inching closer with my Annie 1415/1416, I'm getting repeatable 5x5 shot groups that average 0.5 with Eley Match ammo (the best available to me right now, new shipments of Lapua, SK and Tenex in mid February apparently).

I'm weighting the Match, with about 1 round per 50 being more than 1/10 gn variance - is that normal??

Any other ammo tips folks would care to pass on - I only have pretty basic measuring equipment . . .

Nice! Where did you get that barrel? Was it drop in or did you need a gunsmith?
