Hey, any of you guys know If the barrel shank threads on a model 700 are the same as the threads on a model 7600 barrel? Was thinking of a 7600 re-barrel job using a 700 barrel in a calibre the pump rifles aren't usually offered in..
Not the same barrels. That being said, I have seen more than just the odd 7600 that would shoot well inside an inch.
Totally different, though you can buy this piece for this type project..
What piece?
Ya for sure have had many of them. Was wanting to build a pump in a 6.5 CM and hoped a model 700 barrel in that chambering would work. Maybe a re-bore of a 7600 in 243 would work in stead..
The barrel extension where the bolt locks in, bought 4 from lumpley a few yrs back, still have two of em..
Definitely not an option, you'd still have the .243's .308 based chamber. The Creedmoor is a shorter cartridge.
A 700 take-off could be altered to fit the 7600 barrel extension. This would be easier and probably cheaper than reboring.
Over the years, a number of folks have made up Remington pumps with multiple barrels.

A 760 has a barrel extension - akin to an AR - with the lug sandwiched between it and the barrel shoulder.
I believe a 7600 has a one piece unit, with the lug and locking area being one piece.
The 760 threads are much smaller in diameter than the 700 threads. Doubt that a 7600 is much different.
