Glock 48 Sights?

IMO, the only time an all black front sight is useful is if it’s thin, has an undercut and mounted on a target, silhouette or hunting pistol with an adjustable rear sight.

A fixed sighted modern handgun requires either a tritium, FO or combination front sight only. I prefer the rears to be completely black personally. I think the best set of stock factory sights these days comes on the Shadow Sp-01/2.

The Trijicon XD and the Dawson Precision are great choices. Not perfect for pure target shooting but great for fast target acquisition.

To be clear, I paint the front bright orange over a white base so it really is a high contrast from the all black rear...

My Glock 48 came with Ameriglow sights, i dont like them as much as the Warren tactical sights on the Glock 17. They are not bad but i prefer thin fiber optic front sight. Probably why im a lot more accurate with a G17.

Just order it with Glock night sights they are steel sights and the night sights work good in low light also they have white around the glow tubes and the white is easy to see in daylight.I had the Ameriglo on another Glock and had a hard time seeing the small red dot on front sight

There is nothing "wrong" with the factory sights. Sure they are not the most durable and the sight patter is kinda odd but for your average gun owner that will be putting +/-500 rounds down range a year they are fine. I prefer them over the stock Sig sights (I find the rear dot in the stacked configuration distracting).
There are a lot of options out there for aftermarket sights and unfortunately, its really hard to tell what you might like with out shooting them first. My preference is either Trijicon HD with an orange front sight and night rears or just serrated rear. Both the 48's Ive had have come with the stock sights and I have never upgraded them. I dont shoot them enough to really care, however if I do see a good deal on some tritium front / serrated rear I will grab em.
If you are a competent shooter they should not be an issue. If you think you may upgrade down the road you may aswell just go for the upgraded sights off the bat and save your self the headache of trying to change them later.

I have used a number of sights on Glocks and prefer the following: Warren, Heinie and Dawson. I really like the Dawson fibre optic front sight with the wider base that seems to never come loose as some others have.

I have also done what Ganderite suggested, reversing the stock Glock plastic rear sight after blacking out the white U. I also shaved down the sides of the front Glock plastic with an razor blade to make it thinner and colored the white dot as Canuck 44 has suggested. But only until I could get could a better set of sights from one of the makers listed above.

For me, it has to be all black on the back with a wide window and a thin front sight, either fibre optic for speed, or all black for precision at longer distances where speed is not a concern.
